IMPORTAND NOTICE!! UPGRADE & TEMP. FEATURE LOSS

I really hate to do this but there are a number of problems that I feel may not be good in the long run with the software version we are running. We have discovered more members that are showing up with duplicate and triplicate posts across the site. For those of you who have not seen this.. It looks like the person posted the same thing two or three times in a row.. And not in just one post but ALL of them going back since they registered.

As I have stated previously, we are running a early test version of our community software that is heavily modified. The person that originally started the customization is no longer available and most people won’t know where he left off. So, at this point I have decided that I am going to install a fresh version of our software and NOT customize it immediately. The result will be something that looks dramatically different than what you have been seeing with PTO v2.

If you would like to see what it is going to look like, please go to the PTO test forum that I setup located here:
www.con-tactnews.com/forums (http://www.con-tactnews.com/forums)

At the test forum you will have to register to post and really check it out. When I upgrade the forums here (at the main site) all your information, posts, etc will still be there. Nothing will be lost.

When we upgrade to the latest version at the main site we are going to loose the Chat Room, Photo Galleries and most all the other features for a period of a few days to a few weeks. I will re-install them (latest versions) one at a time and thoroughly test them to insure they are working seamlessly with the other programs.

I know this is going to be a bit confusing for all of you, who just recently got introduced to PTO v2, but my reasoning for this is to insure that we have a solid system for years to come, and the speed available for more than half of our members who use dial up and may be experiencing slow-downs related to PTO v2 issues.

The upgrade will likely start taking place in the evening of Wednesday April 14, 2004 and last an hour or so. (Hopefully)

I appreciate your patience..
Thanks,
David (Fed-X)
