Need a question answered. A friend of a friend was sentenced to 5 months Home Detention. Her sentence should be over and onto Supervised release, but now the BOP locator shows location Guaynabo MDC .... is this the same or has something happened here?

MDC = Metropolitan Detention Center

It is not the same as "home detention".

This location primary focus is to hold prisoners who are pretrial, holdover for the US District Courts and US Marshal Service for the districs of PR and Virgin Islands.

Without knowing all the details let me make a few points"

(1) Just as Kinmle2u wrote: MDC is the acronym for Metropolitan Detention Center.

(2) A judge cannot 'order' home detention, he can only recommend it. The BOP determines where the sentence is to be served. With that said,

(3) it is entirely possible that her 5 months may be up (already served). It is very easy for a person to 'get lost' in a MDC/MCC. She needs to notify her case manager ASAP about her situation. (or the Records Office)

What makes you think that she has already served her time?

Here sentence was, Imprisonment for a term of five (5) months in the Home Detention Electric Monitoring program, to be followed by a three (3) year term ofsupervised release. She begin her sentence (home ) on 8/1/03. I assume she possibly broke curfew?

The judge cannot impose a sentence of 'home confinement'. He/She can impose a sentence, meaning how long, but not where.

In your case, there is just not enough information provided for me to give you a more complete answer.

Sorry-
