From my understanding, and I could be wrong, it is the rule of the CDC (meaning all prisons in Cali) that no hooded sweatshirts are allowed. That way they don't have to worry about any contraband in the hood.

i think it's silly for them to not allow people to wear hooded sweatshirts! I mean, they always check for everything! oh well, just my opinion

Nope, Amy1 is correct, NO hoodie's allowed. Wear a shirt that will cover up your tattoo's. Anything to revealing will get your visit terminated anyways.

Sweatsuits are not allowed by visitors because the inmates are allowed to wear sweatsuits for jogging, etc. Anything clothing an inmate is allowed to wear visitors are not.

anytime you have a question about attire you should call the prison and ask before wearing it in, or have a plain extra change of clothes (that you know you'll be able to wear inside) in the trunk of your car in case they deny something you try to wear. that way you can never go wrong.

Yes you can I wear them all the time..... You just need to take them off so they can see what you are wearing underneath before you go into visiting .........

You can wear a hooded raincoat (or hooded sweatshirt) as long as it isn't solid blue, grey, yellow, orange, or green. I wear a clear rain poncho when it rains. They sell clear ponchos or clear shower caps : ) in case of rain, in the prison before you go in.

What about hooded jackets when it raining?

Ok I see the info about them selling rain ponchos and shower caps (yuck) but I would like to know the following:

1. Does the poncho have to be clear?
2. What is the cost?
3. Can you bring your own rain bonnet if its clear?

Well this weekend they are saying that its 50% chance of rain and it will be my luck that it will pour lol!

I am most confused about the hood issue and if we can or cannot wear sweat suits. What is your opinion on sweat suits?

I just wanted to bring some clarity to this forum because I was soooo confused when I asked for direction and hopefully this will save someone else the stress.

1. Yes you can wear hoods when visiting at SQ. If you have on a hooded sweatshirt with nothing under it you are fine. If you have a shirt under it you will have to remove it to be processed.

2. Sweat suits are ok as long as they are not blue, grey, yellow, or green.

I know these questions would have save me a ton of stress so hopefully it helps.

Not true at all. I wore one this weekend and had no issues. Several other people also had them on and had no issues.

they SAY no hoodies.....but i was there last week and some bug guy eith a hoodie with lots of "subjective" messaging on it was not told to remove it...
he was in a noncontact visit though..... it may be different for contact...

but the information presented SAYS no hoodies.... what they do permit, I am finding, is a bit arbitrary
