It's his first time in jail, and non-violence.I heard something about hearing in there? What is that? After that he will know when he will be free again?I sent him 14 letters in this 3 weeks, but he didn't receive and letter yet. Why?I wrote the letters in portuguese,is that the problem?I received 6 letters from him,and he always ask me why i don't send letters to him,it makes me fell bad.Can i send magazines or books?Thank's everyone. This website is relly good,i learned a lot of things here.Obrigada!

Welcome!!! You never know why letters get delayed, but I'll bet Portugese makes them crazy!! It's so hard when you know they haven't gotten your letters and are feeling so alone. I'm sure people will come along to answer your questions. Your English is fine!

Welcome to PTO, and the San Quentin Forum!! In question to the mail issue at the
prison, normally it takes approx. 2 weeks for a inmate to get any mail. But with us getting mail, the turn around is 2-3 days depending on where you live in California, or
out of state. Don't worry, your mail will catch up to him. So your honey got 3 years?
Sounds like he is in reception waiting to be mainlined either there at San Quentin or
moved to another prison. I don't think he would have a hearing unless, he was a parole
violator. If that was the case, he would be waiting for a Morriessy Hearing which they
would determine how much time he would recieve for violating his conditions of parole,
but since he has already been sentenced, then I would assume that while he is in
Reception, which is where everyone goes prior to be mainlined into the general prison
population that's what is going on there. If I can be of further assistance with questions in reference to the San Quentin Site let me know. Once again, welcome to
the San Quentin Forum, we're all glad you found PTO!!! Suzi
