i was born and raised here in Miami,Fl however my parents were born and raised in CLio, AL i've been there on numerous occasions hell i use to live in Dothan, i never knew that there was a prison in clio....that damn town is so small... i thought my family made up its entire population....if u dont mind telling me where exactly is this prison huh? I never heard of it before...My boyfriend was just released from Holman and my cousin is still there....I actually met my man through my cousin while they were lcoked up together....And neither one of them ever told me that there was a prison in Clio.....I cant imagine where they would have room for one there....anyways i hope and pray that your love one makes is home soon......Remember that God is the true keeper of time.....Not the state of Alabama....For it is he who determines when long enough is truly longh enough......

I had to laugh at your post and wondering where the prison is in Clio because having been there many times, I can see why you'd wonder. I don't live in Alabama (I'm in northern Wisconsin) but my husband has been at Easterling CF for 11 years now. You go west on the main road through town (I forget the name of it!) and a little past the Exxon station (on your left) (this is where you stop to pee before you get in line doncha know, lol) and then almost immediately on your right you see the driveway to Easterling. Its about 2 miles or less down that road. Just talking about it makes me wish I was there...........

Ms.dee I Have Been Gone To Easterling For About Three Months I Don't Find Anything Wrong Yet.

Well, my fiancee is at Easterling. Why there are some really gross things going on there, it is about the safest prison in Alabama. It is the only smoke free prison in Al. But, I have not had to worry about him being hurt. Yep, my fiancee had all of his things stolen out of his box. And I had to send him money to buy everything all over again. But, that's the first time anything like that has happened. He hates it there. But, atleast I can rest at night knowing he is safe.

I'm with Steph!! My fiance is also there. When he first got there, his lock box was broken into and some of his belongings were taken. That's the one and only time that has happened. I, personally, think Easterling is the safest camp. Of course, he's only been there and at Kilby for about 2-1/2 weeks so, I don't really have a whole lot to base it on except for reading threads here and word of mouth of others who've had loved ones at other camps. R hates it down there...but, his parents and I both feel better about his being there. We know he's safe, ya know?!?! I don't think it matters what camp they're in...they're gonna think it's the worst one. They all suck...that's part of prison, ya know?!?! GOOD LUCK WITH GETTING YOUR BROTHER MOVED!!!

Yep, Steph is right. All that has to be done is for him to put you on his visitation list and for it to be approved. Alabama male inmates can have one unrelated "female friend" on their list.
