Can anyone tell me about this place? anyone been there? My man just got moved there from out of state and he is allowed 1, 1 hour visit via tv!!!:yuck:

oh ashley, i'm sorry your man is there! i pm'd you with my email addy so you can ask whatever questions you'd like. my man just finished the program in december, and was finally transfered to waupun 5 weeks ago. don't worry, you can survive this, and so can he. the biggest things for us were to know that all mail is read, incoming and outgoing, so you'll want to watch what you say in letters. people got tickets for passionate love letters, so keep it rated G or PG. the visits are terrible, one hour, on closed circuit tv, and the sound and picture quality is pretty bad sometimes. also it's uncomfortable in the little rooms they have for the visits. we decided not to visit while he was there, it was so much trouble, and you aren't even in the same building he is in. phone calls are all monitored and recorded, and gone over afterward, so watch what you say on the phone too. is your man there to do the program, or hole time? that makes a difference in how things work there...but the mail, phones, and visits are the same no matter what. i'll be happy to help with whatever i can...
