My name is Katie and my man is transferring from DVI to ? He has asked for New Folsom and then Mule Creek. I know that they are not always good about sending the inmate where he wants to go but do any of you think his chances are decent at getting mainlined to one of these two places?
I downloaded the form CDC106 from the link I found on this site and sent it in as soon as he had a CDC number. My application was either lost or discarded I was told that if discarded it was because I downloaded it and some/most facilities do not accept them unless sent to you from the inmate. Now I start all over again. Not complaining too much though...at least I was not denied.
It has been almost 8 weeks since I have heard his voice!! Since he isleaving DVI any day there is notime to get a letter to him telling him to send me a form. How long will it take to get accepted for visiting? Will he have to send me the form from both of these places?
Can anyone tell me anything else about either place? Will his CDC number remain the same and can I send mail to him there without a cell #? How expensive are the phone calls and can he call right away when he gets there? When can I visit him?
Can you tell I am new to this?

Welcome! I will try and answer some of your questions....As far as where they send him unfortunatly they can send him anywhere,my guys couseler requested a fire camp close to Sacramento but instead he got sent to Pelican Bay all the way up North.
My visiting only took about 2-3 weeks to get approved but sometimes it takes months.
Once you are approved one place you are supposed to be good at all but that wasn't the case for me so I applied at each place.
His cdc number will remain the same as far as I know and you can send mail w/o a cell #.
You can't visit until approved and then only certain days at c ertain times.depending on what section he is in you may have to make an appointment.
I have no knowledge on either prison he requested,I'd call when you find out where he is and ask the specifics.You can call (916) 445-6713 to find out where he is but it takes a couple of days to update the location.

Oh I forgot this one....my calls were about $7 for 15 minutes

I called his Counselor this morning and was told he was on his way to Corcoran. Any info on this place? I have seen that there is a Corcoran 1 and Corcoran 2? I am confused as to the difference.

Corcoran 2 is the substance abuse treatment facility (or something like that) :) Lotsa folks here visit at both facilities, you should find useful info in those threads. Yes, the CDC number stays the same.

Katie, my man got sent to Mule Creek from DVI, he has been there for over 2 months now and they have not yet classified him, he has been in ad seg, or "the hole" ever since, because MCSP staff is slow on getting his paperwork done. I have called a number of times both to the prison and to Headquartes in Sacramento and still my baby is in the hole.......Good luck with your man.
