Hello to every one. I hone I'm doing this right. Anyway, my boyfriend has been in prison for over 8 years now. He was found guilt of "comp To Comm Drugs". This was a 3 year investigation. He was never seen selling drugs, his phone tapes never came up with him talking about drugs. He turned himself in. It was one of the biggest cases in Alabama. He got Life along with 21 other people. He had no prior charges, not on probation. And he was only found guilty of 1 charge not 3 . A guy that got caught with many K's testified and said things about him.....gues what he walked after still selling drugs. The DA let him walk. He is now in Beaumont, TX Prison.
We have no money and this is a case that is so .....anyway, he didn't have a fair trial and he got a Life sentence in 2 hours. I hope to read and hear from many of you. Are there any real Pro Bono atty's?

Jerann, welcome to PTO. I believe I did read recently of a pro bono attorney on this site, but I can't remember the name...perhaps someone else can help with that one.
You'll find many many knowledgable people on PTO, and I hope that we can all help you with what you need, whether it be a shoulder (well, quite a few shoulders) to cry on or legal information or anything in between!

This is a member of PTO who offers pro bono advice, but she is in California. I hope she (or KConnor) could direct you to another source.
Best wishes,

Thanks to everyone! This has been a long almost 9 years now. With FAMM and other groups working so hard we would think that things would have changed by now. If you could read his transcripe you would be surprised. I often wonder what happen to the $7000. that's all he had and guess what he had a bookstore that was doing very well. We had to get credit and borrow money to get things up and running. If he was all that this guy said he was, trust me everything would have been paid in cash. This never happen. Out of a 3 year investigation NEVER did he buy drugs, had big things of money but he had a lot of associates. His biggest problem was he loved to gamble and play cards. Just because his friends may have done things that didn't mean that he did as well. No ID or surviallance showing him or nothing. Oh well, I just wanted to say thinks. Life is just what it says I guess.
Thanks

I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR STORY. I PRAY THAT THIS COUNTRY CHANGES THERE LAWS ON DRUG OFFENSES. THE TIME THAT PEOPLE GET FOR THESE KIND OF CASES IS UNFAIR. MY FATHER HAS BEEN IN THE FEDS ON A DRUG CASE FOR THE LAST 9 YEARS AND HAS 5 MORE TO GO. YOU WOULD THINK HE KILLED SOMEONE. MY SON'S FATHER RECEIVED A 2-6 ON HIS FIRST OFFENSE DRUG CHARGE. I AM SORRY TO SAY BUD I DON'T BELIEVE THAT DRUG DEALER'S MAKE PEOPLE GET HIGH. IF PEOPLE WANT TO GET HIGH THEY ARE GONNA FIND A WAY. THE TRUTH TO THE MATTER IS THAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT WANT ANYONE MAKING MONEY OFF THIS. THIS IS ALL ABOUT THE DOLLAR AND POLITICS. I WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY LOTS OF LUCK!
