My man will be released soon. He is hoping to stay in Tuba City with his cousin, who is Navajo. My man is Paiute. I am wondering if there will be problems dealing with the NHA because of my man's ex-felon status and him being on probation. I don't know if NHA is similar to section 8 type housing with it's strict regulations towards ex-felons.

My man's tribe is very small and not very financially sufficient (they share the rez with the Navajos) so they probably can't help him out with housing.

Any advice or input?

Thanks,
Blueviolet

Hi blueviolet. I don't have any personal knowledge about the Navajo Nation or their governmental regualtions but I have a couple of sites you can check out to possibly find the information your looking for or a someone you can contact within the NHA that could help you.

I know there isn't many breaks for ex-felons with most federal or state operated programs, but sometimes times Tribal goverments are a bot more understanding. I hope that is the case with your situation! :)
