I'm so-o happy I just wanted to share my wedding day with you all. My honey and I tied the knot on Saturday, March 27, 2004 in California. There were three other weddings on our yard, and lots of others at the prison in general. We had the County Clerk marry us and to our surprise the ceremony was beautiful, not just your basic words. I wish I had a tape recording. Everything was a blur for me, but I remained calm and didn't cry. We were married inside one of the Attorney Visiting Rooms, for a little more privacy, with our invited guests standing all around. To be honest, I don't know how long the ceremony lasted, or even what time it was, although it was after 1pm the last time I checked. We were allowed to have photos taken during the ceremony, which had never been done before. The photos are usually taken afterward. I wore a Navy Blue floral long dress and he wore is usual denim blues.
After the ceremony my new husband suggested we go outside for a bit. I was surprised by that suggestion because it was hot out and we rarely go out because of the heat, but I said okay. I was surprised again when once outside, he turned to me and said how much he loved me, but admitted he couldn't sing, so he asked his friend to sing for him a song he dedicated to me. "I'm gonna make you my wife" by the Moments. I'd never heard it before, but this man sung beautifully. Everyone on the patio and inside the visiting room stopped to listen and applauded afterward. The words have lots of meaning and are very special.
Throughout the rest of the visit we held each other close as we visited with our guests. I've never felt such closeness to another human being. It's very exciting and special.
The next day, when it was just the two of us for our visit, my new husband couldn't stop calling me his wife. He is so-o happy and I share his joy.
The best part of the weekend, aside from the wedding, was the fact that we got news that my business that currently keeps us separated by 3000 miles will be coming to a conclusion in two months, so we can be together in the same State, and possibly the same Town :shortly. :fb:
So the wedding is over, but our love continues to grow and the future looks bright. I wish the same for all who are planning to get married or already are. Love is a beautiful thing. :)
