Hello,
Could someone please explain to me how my friend's daughter whose father's grandmother was full blooded Cherokee can use the research her aunt has prepared to request of the tribal council consideration for being accepted. Or, how she might be able to find out if her grandmother was a member of the nation. Area covering the Ohio River Valley and Appalachia into the Carolinas.
All she has been told is that she would have to make a request of the council and sit and patiently wait at the reservation until the members decide. What does this mean and what information is needed?
She is now sixteen.
Respectfully,
WJ
PS Thank you each for sharing your heritage. It is inspiring.
