I am going through the same thing with my guy. He wants to come home to SC. I've been told that it shouldn't be a problem for him because his whole family is here. As far as the job goes we are starting a family business and his plans are to work there at least to start off. Once he gets home he plans to start his own business after a few months. You may want to try and find someone that owns a small business that you're friends with and find out if they would be willing to offer him a starter job. Good Luck!

I posted a thread about parole not too long ago. After scanning over it again, the most important things the parole board looks into is employement, stable living environment, etc. You can find lots of helpful info. in some of the older threads here, but in the meanwhile I'm going to PM you with some links :)

My husband paroled from prison in Alabama to our home in Mississippi without any problems. It took longer to get the paperwork in order, because it then goes through interstate compact. However, I'm just glad he's home.

I can't tell you how excited I was when I saw your post regarding your husband;s parole. My fiance is in GA currently but before he had to go back and take care of this time to serve, we had moved to WI which is where our family lives now.
How much longer did it take for your husband to be released? My fiance said he heard from another inmate that it can take up to 6 months longer to parole out to a different state and I wonder if this is relevant information or not?
Thanks for sharing and thanks for your input!!!

It took about 2 months for the paperwork to go through. Had he paroled into Alabama (where he was incarcerated), it would have taken about 2 weeks.

If he'd paroled out into Alabama and then requested a transfer to Mississippi, that would have taken 6 months.

Since it's different states, I would assume each state has its own rules and regulations, however, I've dealt and lived in the two most bass-ackwards states in the Union (MS and AL) and the interstate compact transition was handled fairly smoothly.

That's not to say I wasn't impatient!!!

Best of luck to you and your guy!

Thanks again! That gives me a little bit of hope for him getting home as quickly as possible :)
