Edward Capetillo
Capetillo is scheduled for execution March 30 for the murders of a man and a woman during a robbery. Capetillo was just 17-years-old at the time of the murders. He was one of four men who participated in the robbery that led to the murders.
The victims were Kimberly Williamson, 20, and Matthew Vickers, 19, both of Houston. They were killed inside Vickers' home in January 1995. Initally, four of the men went to Vickers' home to sell him a gun and an electronic scale, court documents stated. When he declined to buy the items, the men, now joined by Capetillo, decided to rob Vickers. Prosecutors said Vickers was shot in the head and back. Another youth in the home, Grant Barnett, was also shot but survived. Prosecutors said that Capetillo chased Williamson through the house and shot her three times. Of the four men, one man Ryan Sillane, was not charged and tetified against Capetillo. Another, James Duke was sentenced to life in prison for capital murder charge; his brother, Curtis, 20 years for murder; and Michael Wilson, to life in prison for murder. Capetillo had no prior prison record before the murders. He was a high school student at the time.
