What does anyone know about the ANNEXES that some of the prison's have? They just moved James from the main unit at Gulf to the Annex at Gulf? They told me it is a routine move? I emailed them last night when I found out and they actually emailed me back. Apparently he's still in confinement as well. Just wanted to see if anyone knew what the Annexes were for? He was moved on Thursday and I have not received the letter since his move they have all been from before. I should get it on Mon. I just thought it was strange that they would move him to the Annex especially while in lockdown. Not to mention the officer that physicaly threatend him works at the Annex. Wow this has really blew my mind when I found out. So any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Spikeswife

I looked up annex on dictionary.com and the definitions are:

1. To append or attach, especially to a larger or more significant thing.
2. To incorporate (territory) into an existing political unit such as a country, state, county, or city.
3. To add or attach, as an attribute, condition, or consequence.

and

A building added on to a larger one or an auxiliary building situated near a main one.

When I looked around the DOC I noticed that all the Annex's have "mother" institutions, meaning there is a Hamilton CI and a Hamilton Annex; a Taylor CI and a Taylor Annex. I'm supposing that instead of building a new institution somewhere else in Florida, that the DOC just plopped another one down by the existing ones and that's why they are called "annex."

I hope that guard isnt bothering James and he is doing alright, I'm sorry that they keep moving him.
