I am new to this system... I have never had to deal with anyone in prison before...is there anyway of getting my husband out of prison early on good behavior and is there anything that I can do to help get him out early. He is a G2 level right now and is going to be an S3 level at the end of this month. Which from what I understand means he can work outside the gates. Please if anyone can help me I would appreciate it...I am lost and don't know what to do.

Thank you:confused:

I dont have an answer for that but :welcome:
Check out the Texas thread (or the state where your man is) and the ladies and gentlemen there should be able to help you. Good Luck to ya. Keep that head up and you'll be ok. :)

First of all, welcome to the system. I know you don't want to be here, but welcome none the less. You posted this in the General Prison Talk forum which is a pretty good place to start but your question has more to do with Texas directly. Each states prison policies are different and so, one person's answer might be right for them in their state but completely wrong for you in Texas, you know?

Anyway, the good news is that there is a Texas forum down the page a ways. It is an active forum with lots of knowledgeable people who can answer your questions better than we can here in a 'general' forum. I'm betting a moderator will be along presently to move this post to the Texas forums but in the meantime, you might want to check it out.

Good luck and in the event you are just as bewildered, lost and frightened as most of the rest of us were when we first arrived, know that it gets better and you will make it.

Welcome to PTO but sorry that you are having to deal with the system. Outside trusty's are S2 so he cannot work outside the gates as S3. However, at S3 he will be earning the maximum amount of good time which is the same for S3, S2 and S1. He can be released early through either parole or release to mandatory supervision, if he is eligible. In either case it is completely up to the parole board as to whether he is released early.

One way you can help is by preparing a parole packet for the parole board to review when he is eligible. It helps the board to know what kind of support he has on the outside and can help the voters to see him as a person rather than just a TDC number.

There are lots of suggestions, answers, and help for preparing a parole packet in the Parole Preparation section of the Texas forum. Here's a link to it:

Good Luck!

erunitclerk Welcome :) I'm fairly new and don't have all the answers but PTO has a wealth of information. And you have a CLOSE family with whom to share your burdens.
