I here mixed things about women's prisons and the violence. I have't found anyone yet that says it's comparatable to men's prisons, but some say there's very little, some say there's a lot. Where my wife is now, there aren't even a lot of fights, but she's in a regional jail waiting for a transfer (and has been waiting for about a year and there not trying to move her, but that's another story). My worry isn't her being in any danger. She can take care of herself. My concern is that she has a temper which would create instances and in the long run dealing with a lot of violence may change her over the next 3 yrs 4 months. Like I said she has a temper, but since she is no small woman (although she's lost 85 lbs (yes, 85) in the past year, so she really isn't that big anymore) and that combined with the way she handles herself keeps people on the outside from bothering her, but that's the outside. I just don't want her to come home hating the world.

Basicall, b4 I go into serious ramble land, what's the situation on violence in women's prisons? More specifically in VA?

My lady went from county where she said she was queen to VSPW in California which is the largest women's prison in California and no longer did she talk about being queen. She said there were some pretty nasty ladies in there including some of the Manson girls. Anyway she wants to spend as little time as possible inside, at her new digs in CIW Corona.

She can handle herself as well but now that she's at firecamp any violence will get her booted from the program and the reduced sentence she would receive. So now that's she's on a program she's highly motivated to stay non-violent.
