TWIN FALLS -- Former Twin Falls County Clerk Bob Fort has been transferred from the state prison in Boise to a community work center in Twin Falls to complete his theft sentence.

Fort was convicted of taking more than 60 thousand dollars from the country to cover gambling debts.

He's serving up to three years in prison. But he could be released as early as this November.

Officials say Fort qualified for the work release program because he doesn't pose a threat to the community and it will help him in his transition back to society
