HE is in for 25 to life, and I am waiting desperately to get approve to visit I hope in a month> I plan on coming ot calif. this summer for a visit, and possilby considering relocating. DO you live in SLO? How are you doing?? are you married, do you get congugal visits, if so, must be nice. HE stole a pair of sunglasses!! got a life sentence out of that deal.... what a mess. fighting it with FACTS and CAVC are you in any support groups through the prison, I ahve a zillion questions for you as you see, PLEASE write me or email me at (removed do to PTO policy, please pm member) thanks I would love to talk to some one on the phone too, I ahve unlimited LD so I would call you right back I feel desperate for support here..... He is a victim of 3rd strike law for stealing sunglasses. you mentioned prayer, and we are strong christians. HE has totally changed his mentality through spiritual change.... He wants to be a minister. So, that is us, we are OLD like in our 40/s so I can be you young girls MOM OK?? NO, but I do have a 27 year old daughter and I am a grandma now, as hard as it was to accept at first!! Now I love it. I want to know what visiting is like there at CMC. and if you are living in SLO or what?? HOw did you meet, and tell me all about it, need some connection with other women with men in CMC so we can chat about our troubles and JOYS too. I hate the damn phone deal, only 15 and interrupted all the time. How do you all afford to live in CA. it is sky high rent compared to where I am from KANSAs, so do you have any suggestions for me thinking about moving there?? JOBS< HOUSING I would even consider sharing with a place with another inmates wife to share expenses. Just an idea, But I GOT TO be near my man before too long I am dying here.

My uncle is at CMC East ~ transferred there from Lancaster [thank the Lord] in March. From what his letter say, it's A LOT nicer than Lancaster and as he is a 68-year-old ill-in-health man, I'm glad that he's out of that hell hole. AND I'm most especially glad that he didn't get transferred to Corcoran as he first said.

At any rate, SLO is much closer for me to visit as I'm in the Salinas area. Anyone care to share their visitation experiences? What days are visitation? What are the hours?

My fiance is also at CMC (East Facility) in San Luis Obispo, CA. He's been there since 2002. I visit him every other weekend so I guess you can say I'm a "regular." LOL

Hey Val when I drive up to visit I drive through Salinas, so I'll honk at you this weekend when I drive through.

I don't visit at CMC- my husband is in SVSP- but, I do live here in San Luis- and I have my entire life- so if you have any questions on the area- please feel free to contact me :)

Michelle, maybe we should transfer our loved ones because CMC is in your city and SVSP is only 1 hour from my house. LOL Just kidding, I love the fact that my fiance is at CMC becuase it's one of the better prisons in CA and I love SLO. It's so pretty there, not to mention they have so many little stores with such cute clothes.

And we were so close at getting my husband transfered here- he had his committee hearing last weak and was supposed to go down to a level 3- but.. surprise, surprise- the DOC "found" 10 points they "forgot" to add to his score about 18 months ago, now we have to wait another year... -sigh- Don't you just love that DOC?
Do you guys ever head down to Pismo Beach- the weather is beautiful lately- and great little shops :)

Hey Lisa, I'll keep an ear out for your honk as you drive through Salinas! Just drive carefully on 101 through that corridor ... there's been A LOT of fatal accidents there recently.

From the letters my uncle has sent from CMC, he's doing a heck of a lot better than when he was at Lancaster. Other than being in a small cell with a folding bed, he said the food is good and there's lots of yard time. Unlike Lancaster where he was on lockdown for most of the time.

Here's a question: I have an approved visitors form from Lancaster; do I need to re-do the application for CMC?

Michelle, yes I love going to Pismo Beach, especially the outlets. They have some cute clothes for a good price. I love the beaches and right now I'm here in San Luis Obispo and boy the weather is beautiful. I'm sorry to hear about your man not being able to transfer.

Val, yes CMC is one of the better prisons. I am glad to hear that your uncle is doing better at CMC than the other prisons. Did he also mention to you that they get their own key to their cells? When I first say my fiance's key I said, "oh you got to be kidding me; are you in prison or club med???" LOL If you were approved at Lancaster then it will follow you to CMC, as long it hasn't been over a year since you last visited him. Just to be on the safe side, call the prison and find out. The number for the visiting secretary is(805) 547-7872. Let me know what they say.

'Laurensangel' I completely agree with you the damn phone calls are ridiculous in 15 minutes they interrupt you 5 times with those stupid messages as if you didnt know you were speaking to an inmate! My goodness! One thing that works is if your guy knows someone in there who didnt use their phone time they can sign up twice and call again... thats kinda nice. Sumtimes my honey surprises me like that!

Does anyone know if they actually check at cmc west when you go to visit if ur wearing a wig? that is if it doesnt appear to be one?! i am usually not without one but id hate to lose my visit for wearing one!! any info would be appreciated!!
