Morning all ..as you know my man was sent to Newton Texas from Santa rita unit in Tucson due to overcrowding in Jan 2004 ..and just friday I read in the Arizona Republic that the Adc has already sent 400 inmates to Oklahoma and they are planing to send a tolal of 4000 inmates ..I dont know if that number counts the ones they have already sent....but the sites are Newton Texas and Oklahoma and Pecos Texas ....so be prepared for that call ..they tell them the night before they go ..they dont really have time to notify anyone and I dont think they are givin a option to rather they go or stay ...heres what I know from my experiance ..they get to take all their belongings and t.v, radios , etc and since they are far they get to buy Phone cards so they can call ...They are still inmates of ADC just housed in these other states in private prisons ..all the same rules as far as mailing etc is the same and if you are approved for visit here you are still on their list ...that is if you can afford the trip???pretty costly to what I found out ...well just want to give you the heads up....Luisychris :pissed:

I heard from another lady on PTO that inmates could volunteer for this and get higher pay in that state. Is that true?

OMG there are NO JOBS in Oklahoma!! My man was transfered in the first of Aprill I just got a letter from him last night 4/20 his is so Pi$$ed off.. said they have NO JOB NO SCHOOL NO NOTHING!!! they are moved to a 5 yard.. and theyre aloud out of there cells for 1 hour a day!! I think its BS!!! ans Arizona lied to them! told them they would have a job and schooling.. all of it LIES! lol im so upset about this!!

This is certianing not what they told me at Oklahoma when I called them dirrectly. We need to get the word out. As I said before, they told me you have to be re-approved for visitation.

Umm yeah and lets try, they will hand them a cominsery sheet and laugh at htem knowng Dam* well no one has money.. so i sent my hunny 40 $ they DO get every dime when you send them money! I know its bad... I had not got a letter from james since the first of april.. when he wrote it was a sad letter.. it was f this and f that.. he was so down.. he said " i behave my self and try to do good and this is the reward i get!! " Im worried about him!! so lets keep him in our prayers.. Thanks.. and ill let you know if i hear anymore!!

Does the money they had when tehy left AZ at least transfer?

Actually yeah he mintioned that.. said he had like 10$ but he wont get it till next month..

So, I guess if my husband gets sent I should sent money asap, huh?

My friend in Florence-East Unit usually calls on Mondays and the last two Mondays he hasn't been able to call. This is because THAT is the day or one of the days, inmates are being moved. He has called me either on Tuesday morning or Late Monday to let me know they were in lockdown while inmates were being removed.

Someone at the hotline said if they move you on a Thrusday it is to Texas, if it is a Tuesday it is to Oklahoma. They roll them up the night before.

What Arizona facilities are you folks talking about? Could Safford be one where they're moving people out? My man called very late Wed. night said he could only talk a minute and then got cut off. I haven't heard from him since. I thought it might be another lockdown, but maybe he's being moved yet again??!! It's SO upsetting for them to get moved...he's been moved again and again.

Just thought I'd let some of you know my mans best friend and mine got moved to Diamondback Ok last week with only 9 mo. left on his sentence. But he said its nicer there and the staff is friendlier and they have 2 man cells. He's a Med custody so my guess is that they should all be in the same area any one want to know any thing and isn't hearing anything from their man let me know and I'll ask my friend if he can get some info.
