Just wondering what the typical lockdown length of time is?
My friend has been on lockdown since last Thursday...I'm wondering if I can expect for him to still be on lockdown on Saturday since I'm going to visit. Anyone know?

My fiance in Lancaster has been on lockdown since July or was it June. Anyhow, I always call before I go see him as I drive 5 hours one way. Usually they are still allowed to have visitis while on lockdown. So I would suggest calling just to make sure. Hopes this helps.

I believe the length of time depends on what kind of incident has happened at the prison to cause the lockdown and what kind of yard they're on. My husband has been on lockdown once for almost 5 months. Now it's only a day or two since he is a critical worker and he stays at work most of the time.
CDC does have a visiting hotline # you can call to find out if there will be visiting during a lockdown. The # is 1-800-374-8474. Just follow the recording to find the info for the prison you are going to visit.

Just a heads up about CA lockdowns... CMC prison is currently on a partial lockdown. Yards A and C are on lockdown and no visits are being allowed so for loved ones traveling to San Luis to visit an inmate on East in those yards, you will not get in. My husband is on A so I have had to find other things to occupy my time this weekend. I was told it may end by the middle of next week, but no guarantees.. best to call before driving a distance... hope this helps,,, jeanette
