Try NJ Transit. I think it i run by them but I'm not sure. I know when my man was inSouthern State the bus used to go there and it was a NJ Transit bus.

I'm not even sure the Joint Connection is still in business. John Mavros was the owner/operator of JC back in '96/97 and then he seemed to have disappeared along w/his buses . If he/JC is still around his operation would most likely be out of Newark. You may want to try NJSuccess.com and see if he is located on this website.

Hi all:
I have the phone number for Joint Connection but there's just a phone message and no one seems to answer. Anyone on this board ever take it from Newark Penn Station to Jones Farm? Does it even go there? From the recording it seems the bus or van or whatever leaves at 8 that's too late for registration :(. Any information is appreciated!
Thanks!
I love Joey!

Hello there.... I just signed up to this site today and as I was looking through everything I noticed that you had posted something about taking people to Bayside. I dont know if you are still able to do this, but my boyfriend is currently in Bayside and I was going with his parents b/c I do not drive but they just moved so now I am kind of stuck. Like I said I do not drive and and I am down by Pt.Pleasant so for me to take the train up to Newark and then try and get the bus would be kind of crazy. Please let me know if you go and if you are willing to let me ride w/ you. Thanks, Melissa

I am just wondering if you still drive down to Bayside to visit someone. My boyfriend is there and I was going to visit him w/ his parents but they have resently moved to Florida, and being that I do not drive it is very hard for me to get there. Please e mail me when you have time(email address removed per pto guidelines. Please pm member) Thank you,
Melissa

Thank you thank you thank you for sharing this info about Joint Connection. Phone is still (973) 596-1122, but we no longer have fax, and email now is TheJoint4U@optimum.net . i co-founded Joint Connection in 1972, did it F/T until state cut contract out of budget, and have done it P/T since then (1992). i'll gladly answer email, but can't keep up with VM, so i use cell phone call back number (but not VM) to return almost all calls i can't answer.
Peace and Love to all, john

 Okay! for those who need to get to the various correctional facilities in Southern Jersey; The cost varies between $25.00 - $40.00 round trip. Children's fare is $10.00 per child. If going to Bayside State prison tickets are $30.00 roundtrip. I don't know about the facilities beyond Bayside. The number to reach John is 973-659-1122 however, you will be asked to call 973-405-7632. He never answers the phone though, however you can try leaving a message. as 24's wife stated you can purchase tickets between 6:45 to 8:15am The bus leaves the Penn Station terminal promtly at 8:30am. It picks up passengers after the last visit of the day and goes to each facility and pick up those who are returning to Newark Penn Station. Remember ladies there is a dress code. No underwire bra's, no provocative attire, no see through clohting, no sleeveless shirts, no trapless dresses, no jackets, no hot shorts with emphases on the "mound" at the Y. Good Luck! Enjoy the 45 minutes to an hour visit.

Hello all!

I used The Joint Connection for the first time this past weekend..and I loved it. It was so convenient..and very reliable.

After doing some research on PTO..i called the number the asked various questions..and I even reserved my seat before the day of the trip...just to make sure I would have no issues. If the bus is full...its FULL. So I would suggest reserving one just to play it on the safe side. Now when you get into Newark Penn station..They'll have a table set up at the end of the hallway by track 2 i think..I'll double check. The table sits directly infront of the cleaners. The ticket cost me $30 round trip..and I got a little ticket. He told me exactly what time the bus left ..and where to find it. Once you walk back down the hallway...go to your left and exit out those doors...walk across the walkway..and around the little corner..and you'll see a black bus parked on the side waiting. The bus doesnt leave until 9:00 but it got there at like 8:15 ish...You can see the bus from the door too. Then..you get on..and go! :D Once visiting was over..we walked outside and the bus was already there waiting!..Get on and Go! :D At the end of the ride they ask if anyone wants to tip the driver..Its optional.

Its really easy to find..and very convenient..I recommend it to everyone considering it!

Joint connection is still active. Cost $35 and leaves Newark penn at 8:30...arrives at swsp at 11:30. I was told to buy my ticket before 8am so that's what I'll be doing this weekend. I'm just hoping that this snow today doesn't mean rides are can cancelled. I'm also hoping I don't get down to south woods and they still don't have my loves list like last week!

The number posted still works but it's a cell that seems to be turned off much of the day. They only do the afternoon visit so make sure you know when your loved one has PM visits.
