I don't believe there is one that has been made public. You can always submit an open records request if you want though. What exactly are you trying to send? We can give you suggestions on where to buy things.

Hi yall

Do anyone know where i can find the approved vendors list for TDCJ?

I have been mailing books to Texas Prisons for years. The old rule was a bookstore must be legitimate as listed in the yellow pages. In our early the years, when I have first mailed to a unit, we would get a phone call from that mail-room to verify that I really am a bookstore. I have never seen anything on the TDCJ website that listed "approved" vendors. If there is such a thing, I would love to see it too.

I don't have a vendor list but I started using this bookstore for all my ordering. I was having issue get books returned -not approved. I have gotten the bookstore to order a book and ship from their company. I do know they will check with Huntsville to make sure something is approved before sending it. I did get one book returned but they made a call and my boyfriend got the book because they had it approved.

I use texasprisonbookstore com

I have been useing ( also for over a year now. They are an approved vendor and they have everything that you can send and always have different stuff to order. I haven't had any problems with them. They are really nice to and do special orders for me too.:D

I send magazines all the time from either Barnes & Noble or Borders. If you go into either store just tell them you need to send them to an inmate and there's a form you have to fill out.

Can we use amazon?

Paperback or hardcover?

If your loved one is in TDCJ, Amazon works fine, and they can have both hardcover and paperback books.

I would check with the unit. Some units don't allow hardbacks.

It's best if it says "fulfillment by Amazon". I know I've ordered used video games and a couple of times the seller just used padded envelopes with the shipping addresses handwritten (the unit mailroom might not allow books shipped like that).

hi meximami, I sent books from amazon just last month and they let everything in :) My husband said one of the books was a used book from the New York Public Library even! We were surprised that got through! Telford mail room is pretty decent though :)
