Is there anyone in here that has a success use that after vowing to never use crack cocaine again while in jail... they cleaned themselves up substituted drug use for working out and eating healthy and swears he will never do it again... Keep in mind that they didn't go to jail for drug use but had decided to quit before he went in but really are there any success stories about after they came out??? Did you really quit??
That is what scares me with my boo... I know its really hard I believe he can do it but is it really possible?

crack cocaine is a very tough drug to beat. i dont want to scare you. how long will he be in jail/prison? it takes depending how often he used sometimes from 2-5 years from your system. its stores in your body and the cravings can come back when a person gets stressed out, has a fight or even works out. my husband is addicted to crack and now he is in prison, not for the drug either, he doesnt want to come home right now because he is afraid he will go back. he says he needs more time away from the drug and the realitys. he was addicted years ago and got passed it. i dont know what made him fall again. a person has to remove himself from anyone that uses it or cant be near them. it sounds to me he has already realized he has a problem that is the first step. good luck to you. and just keep encouroging him. if you need to talk pm me. i have been through this and still am.

Ezzy,
There are hundreds of thousands of people who have overcome drug addiction. It is a daily process for most. I have a friend who was a major user before he went to prison and cleaned up inside (even though it was very hard) and has been sober 3 years. Maybe you could get a Narcotics Anonymous meeting schedule for him. It will be important for him to build a whole new network.
