My wife was just sentenced to 3 years in Tallahassee. I guess my biggest fear for her is what the female prison system is really like inside. She's a very attractive 42 year old woman who's never even been in county before. I talked to her yesterday and she said some bigger inmates were already coming onto her already. How can she defend herself? What advise should I give her? She says she has heard alot of stories about women being gang raped and she's really scared. Should she be? does this really happen? It's really great that this site is here. It's truly a wonderful place at a time like this.

I've never been locked up in prison myself, but I know a female who was, and she came out swinging both ways.
I think the biggest thing would be for her to stand her ground and stand up for herself, don't be afraid to be the aggressor if it shows that she doesn't want to be messed with. This is all just naive advice mind you....

There is no such thing as a rabid lesbian.
Stop watching movies of the week.
Anyone in a women's prison who's warming up to anyone else would be looking for their money, assets not ass. She's got relatively no time at all to do and there is nothing to fear but fear itself. If anyone questions her sexuality, all she has to do is tell them what team she bats for. End of subject. No one wants a lay that'd fight or tell it. Amateur lesbians abound in prison, they'll find eachother,.. they don't need her.

If I ever had to do some time in either county of prison I would personally stop taking a shower! Maybe that will make them stay away from her!

If you ever had, you'd know better.

tylrsail,
Hi, I think Life pretty well covered it. To quote her take a deep breathe, calm down and stay away from the movies of the week.
Kreepsgirl, again Life is telling it like it is. Only seen two blanket parties in my entire life one in Boot Camp the other in prison. In both, cases the women had neglected to take showers for awhile. Believe me they did afterwards, religiously!

Thank you all for making me fell a little more at ease about the whole thing. No more movies for me. I just hope you're right

I was in a women's prison in Tx. and I was never hit on or threatened--and I am not ugly or anything. As was said previously, there are plenty who are willing, and women are not as aggressive as men, usually.

Well since I'm a man, needless to say I've never been in a woman's jail, but my wife's been there a lil' over a year and tells me there's enough lesbianism (sp?) in there where they don't have to take it. She's seen some aggresive approaches, but refusals aren't attacked.
