Sandy Kyla 03-04-2004, 04:07 AM Hi Sandy I have been waiting for you to pop in. I am going to get the Australia Forum started, I have been putting the word out through the prison system, legal services, etc. Would you like me to email you a PTO flyer to hand out at visits? PM me if you are interested. We need to get our sister countries together through this. :) Phil in Paris 03-04-2004, 08:38 AM Hi Sandy Well, I'm from the other side of the world, but PTO is a small and caring planet, so I'd like to welcome you to the family :) All my best wishes to you and your man Phil TNC 03-04-2004, 09:29 AM I'm not from New Zealand, but I've had the pleasure of chatting with you in the chat room. I would like to recomend that you post a introduction in the intro thread and get to know everyone. You will get many warm welcomes. http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=38 kiwibirdlady 03-05-2004, 06:20 PM HI there, Origianlly from Auckland New Zealand but have lived in California for 18 years now. I have been waiting to see the Aussie and Kiwi prison talk come on here. I am glad you guys are here now. Larissa Kyla 03-06-2004, 01:48 AM Sandy You have to tell us about visits? You said visits were isolated nearly? why is that? All these questions. Does your prison system sound the same as ours??? sandee292000 03-21-2004, 04:06 AM Kyla, you have done a great job of posting info on every prison in NZ. It makes me so mad to read what they say they do when I know they dont do it. Currently my partner has served 12 years and is due to be released in the next few months. He has frequently applied for day and/or weekend leave so that he can gradually be reintegrated after such a long time. However time after time they turn him down. Thats when I decided to go to my local politician who took up the fight on my behalf. Thats also when his prison manager told him that thanks to me being a trouble maker they were transferring him. So it looks like after 12 years of prison they will throw him out with no reintegration. In prison one day and out the next. We believe they are setting him up to fail. I know different. I know that our love for each other will get us through the difficult times ahead. I will try to comment on some of the prisons you have posted. fairlea flyer 01-12-2005, 07:09 PM Hey Sandy, I am ex female con from Melbourne now living in NZ hows it??:) Hi there. I'm from over the drink from you, but I have had a few serious thoughts of going over to NZ for some music festivals sometime, do some horseriding up in the mts & soak up some amazing culture (and excellent music!). Might have to wait a while now, I don't think my partner will be able to go over with me until after parole ends :( Good luck with the family visit Kia ora! nortynou 04-30-2007, 08:19 PM Hi treehugga!!!
