Inmate rehabilitation

Federal Correctional Institute-Safford Warden Conrad Graber is passionate about making sure the inmates at his prison are ready to contribute to society upon their release.

Graber talked about educational programs for the inmates while they are incarcerated and said the more education the inmates receive directly correlates to a lower incidence of recidivism.

Eastern Arizona College representative Mike Crockett said EAC offers a new degree program in applied sciences for inmates. The goal is to have inmates qualified and prepared for a variety of jobs when they are released.

"The inmate population is grateful for the opportunities provided by your college," Graber told Crockett.

Well, my Son has taken a college construction course, and now a business course. He thoroughly enjoys them.
