I don't know anything about the Brig in San Diego, however, if I may make a suggestion. Have you contacted the Chaplain at the Brig, you may be able to get some info from him/her.

I have been to the Brig at NOB in Hampton Roads, but that was quite awhile ago when I was active duty. Used to go out there on Chaplain visits when I was the Yeoman for the Chaplain here. Maybe I could answer your questions generally. Please post them and maybe I or someone else could help.
