My honey has just been transferred to Springfield. I would like to know how long the inmates are usually there for?? Also, do kids have to be approved on the visiting list? Oh yeah, is it is accessible using public transport?

I would appreciate it if anyone could answer these questions for me.
Thank you.

I'm not sure about how long the inmates stay at a Medical Center. At other BOP facilities you can only be considered for a transfer once you have been at that facility for 18 months.

You can check the BOP website at www.bop.gov (http://www.bop.gov) to read the rules about visitation at each institution. I would think that if he is the biological father of the children and they are still minors that they would not have to be approved to visit, only the adult that accompanies them would have to be approved. That's just my common sense logic though and it's not always the same kind of logic that the BOP uses. :D

There is a city bus system in Springfield that you can take to a bus stop nearby the prison. I can think of one that is within a block or two of their main entrance. I doubt that they would take you up the main drive.

There are also taxis in Springfield.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions about the area.......if you need driving directions or other info. I live near Springfield and will try to help you with any questions that you have. :)
