View Full Version : State's Rights, Damn It, State's Rights!

I don't cuss often, but damn it, HAVE THE FEDS TOTALLY FORGOTTEN THE CONSTITUTION?

The first 10 amendments restrict the powers of the national
government. By what authority do the Feds own to trample state's rights? Absolutely none!

If you want to be a free people you must remember the constitution.

You know... it's that document that was written on hemp paper at the outset - the one that established the rules of the game for our nation?

Well, in those rules are listed the duties of the federal 'government' and it specifically says that everything else not listed is to be left in the hands of the people of the individual states.

Summed up, their duties apply to settling disputes no one else can settle (when asked) but mostly they are there to guard our borders while we here inside pursue life,
liberty, and happiness.

It doesn't matter whether you understand the marijuana plant or not. The decisions on personal choice, medical freedom, and the laws of the states are to be left to the people within each state while the feds constitutionally protect the people within the parameters of the country from outside forces.

That's why the federal nose in California's medical marijuana affairs is so maddening. No one invited their intrusion. Many of the law enforcers and courts here stand up against the feds in this matter. The patients certainly don't want them here! And the Feds have no constitutional right to interfere with Prop 215.

They say if you don't like the law, change it and these people did! Medical use of marijuana is LEGAL by California law!

It's easy to understand why the feds are fighting freedom so
viciously - they are addicted to power, control, and of course the money that the drug war has netted them.

But it is not so easy to understand the blatant destruction of the lives of so many harmless people just to maintain their lies - BIG lies. Lies about the historical failure of prohibition policies, the need for a drug war, the reasons for the war, the use of every imaginable immoral method of persecution within that war, the legal chemicals and the illegal plants, and the fear mongering about the kinds of people who use marijuana and the lies about the plant itself.

For anyone out there who would claim that marijuana ruined their lives or the lives of someone they love, you need to rethink the entire situation... It's more than likely that the laws against the use of marijuana ruined those lives, not the plant itself.

It's highly probable that the stigma, the lack of education, and the need to hide their use ruined their lives. Or that they were on the road to ruin before their marijuana use. Lives aren't ruined by marijuana. Lives are ruined by bad laws.

This is a plant we are talking about... a non-toxic plant natural and vital to the earth... a plant urgently helpful to millions of people who are no different than you... They get educated (when the law lets them), they work (when the law lets them), they produce, they grow old and sick....

And under the persecution of those 500-and-some corporate-owned politicians, many of them live in prison or die in unnecessary anguish.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I recently came to CA to help an eighty year old gentleman write a book. I've personally seen the 'clubs' that dispense marijuana to patients. They are places of careful business, places of compassion.

Every one of the people that I've met whom the government calls "dealers and traffickers" are kind, caring, and following all the rules the state of CA set up for the business of dispensing marijuana.

You wouldn't be afraid of them if you were alone in a dark alley with them. And if you were very very sick, you would probably look to them with great respect for standing up to the bullies in Washington to help you relieve your pain. These are the kind of people who don't back down when they know they are doing what's right. That's what the
politicians hate - people who stand up for the truth!

Just give this some thought because you may be there someday: If you or someone you loved could find no relief from great and endless pain, mental or physical, and you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there was a natural plant that would probably relieve much of the symptoms,
would you be so likely to respect someone who told you you couldn't have it?

Well, that's how millions of Americans feel - No respect left for the officials who were elected to represent them, but who
instead are torturing them even unto death!

And in Florida, despite all the recent statistics and research and results showing that many of our prison's problems are being caused by mandatory minimums, three-strikes, and drug war arrests, I got this today from jeb@gulf1.com: "GOVERNOR BUSH SIGNS THREE-STRIKES LAW
requiring MANDATORY PRISON TERMS for repeat VIOLENT offenders, DRUG TRAFFICKERS, and other VIOLENT felons", as if you have to be VIOLENT to get a bag of pot for your friend or to sell one to your friend.

This is nothing but a ploy to help his brother maintain the drug war and we are weak to tolerate it!

Who are the real law-breakers here? "Pot Clubs" dispensing to sick people, citizens utilizing their right to freedom of choice, states incorporating sane and compassionate policies, or politicians on a mad destructive scramble to maintain a policy built on lies?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Come on, people, if you know the truth tell it; if you don't then learn it! That way they can't tell you there aren't better ways of controlling drugs than a drug war!

That's why I risk censorship and condemnation: Because it's true and "the day we know the truth and cease to speak it, is the day we begin to die!" (MLK)

And once you understand the enormity of the cost compared to the relatively miniscule 'victories' of the prohibition and drug war; Once you realize the vastness of the lies used to manipulate and maintain the destruction;

When you have sat down and actually visualized the future in the hands of people who will stop at nothing, including destroying the constitution that protects your freedom, to manipulate your thinking and control every aspect of your lives...

Then and only then, will you feel the need to protest in letters to your media and politicians, to push your officials and candidates to debate, to stand up at demonstrations, to contact people like Keith Stroup rkstroup@aol.com at National Norml natlnorml@aol.com to find out how to help change the laws in the NORML way back to the normal way, and to DEFEND the people being harassed by their government for living within the laws of their own state and abiding by the compassionate laws of God!!

In great frustration, but still visualizing the healing of the nation, I'll now get off my soapbox.

Yearning for peace,
