I am trying to find some info for a friend about Wilcox State Prison the only thing we have is the addy & phone number. If anyone knows could you give me some info about visitation requirements, do you have to be pre approved? how to go about putting money on their books if they have store privilages and things of that nature. I would appreciate any info you may have.
Thanks

Wayne transferred from Wilcox, and I have visited there 3 times. You have to be pre approved for visitation, if you are already on a state visitation list, the inmate needs to ask the counselor if your named has been transferred to this facility. Onlyb immediate family members can visit, unless you fill out a "significant other" form. This has to be approved by Deputy Wardenn Tripp. If you are divorced, he will need a copy of your divorce decree, if you are a widow/widower, he will need a copy of the death certificate. If you don't have a birth certificate on file with the DOC, they will need that too. Good news, once you are approved, you can visit your inmate at any facility he is moved to. Visiting hours are from 9 am - 3 pm Saturday & Sunday. They have a pretty good sized visitation room and it never gets real real crowded. (Wilcox is in Abbeville, which is in the middle of nowhere). They have decent vending machines, and a couple or microwaves. To put money on a store account at Wilcox, you have to send a money order payable to the inmate & his GDC number, you also have to put the name and address of the remitter. Hope this helps, let me know if
I can answer any other questions for you. Becky
