Century Correctional in Century Florida does not receive mail on Saturdays...I wish they did!

At first my baby was able to receive mail on Saturdays and then around January of this year they stopped allowing them to send or receive in Tx. I don't understand their reasoning behind the whole situation. It's no different from any other day. Does anyone know why their not allowed to receive mail on Saturdays?

I just visited with my friend in Central State Prison (Macon, Georgia) today.
He said that they didn't get mail on Saturdays.

It's a bummer because I visited him today (Sunday) and sent him something that I hope would have arrived yesterday (Saturday). Oh well. :-\

Actually i didn't know this till i talked to MAtthew tonight,but they do give them mail on Saturday..i sent him 2 things on thursday,and he got them last night! he was so happy..i buy flourescent colored envelopes so he can look n see if he's got any mail! he loves it :) 50 envelopes for $5 at office max...

the interesting thing about the mail from mci-h is that it goes to frederick to be sorted before it actually goes out into the mail. so that slows it down about a day as to what it used to run.

I'm jealous - LOL! My baby doesn't get mail at Centralia (Illinois) on Saturdays. No incoming or outgoing. He hates those Monday holiday weekends, 'cause that's one more day they get no mail. :rolleyes:

Michigan has Saturday mail delivery at Muskegon Correctional Facility! :) I do know for the most part other Michigan facilities do not have Saturday mail delivery.

Yes, since when time after our viits on Saturday, he said you were with me all day. I was confused he was like as soon as I left you I had a letter waiting for me. It was like a holiday for him! So cute and makes me thankfull he and I have learned about small blessings and the simple things in life.

hmmm i dont know ill have to ask .. i know he didnt in county ..but there mail was weird there ... it took days to get mail in the same town ... but now hes across the state and he got his mail the next day ... the mail system is so weird

and let's not forget how far behind the mail runs at mci-h! i can mail something to him on monday, i know for a fact it gets there on tuesday & he usually doesn't get it for a week! i've talked to the mail room. they insist they only run a day behind so something mailed on monday is received tuesday & in his hands wednesday. not true!! it's sooooooooo agrrivating!!

my boyfriend does not receive any mail on saturdays, and he is located in florida (federal) at Coleman Low.

I know at Parchman in Mississippi they do not send out mail on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday but they will recieve mail on Friday. Atleast it is like that in unit 29-G.

So at this point I am not sure wheather he gets mail on saturdays or not.

mcihhagerstown's correct...Does anyone else find that the mail at MCI-H is incredibly slow getting to the guys? I live about an hour's drive away yet it takes a week for my mail to get in his hands. He can mail a letter & I'll get it the next day so I know the problem has to be within the facility.

My husband gets mail delivered to him on Saturdays, but outgoing mail has to wait until Monday.

Postal mail is delivered to the prison on Saturday, however, the mail room does not work on Sat, therefore no mail is passed out. Darn it!

Monday thru Friday only and it takes a week for him to get the mail!! I send it on Monday...he might have it on Friday. He is a 3 1/2 hour drive from here....gesh...I believe they send it by turtle express.

Utah doesn't give mail on Fridays or Saturdays! I really have to plan ahead because it takes 3 - 4 days to get to him and I don't like all my letters from Tuesday thru Thursday showing up together on a Monday Night.

I wonder, do you know if all the prisons in Florida are like that and no mail on Monday's? I sent a letter out and thought for sure that he would get it on Monday. :-(

I just assumed that they got mail 6 days a week like the rest of us, never thought about them having a day that they didn't get it. :(
