Be careful buying boots all boots purchased on the street have metal shanks
Store salesman dont know what they are talking about
Timberland has one model of work boot without shanks but they are extremely expensive even with a discount they are more than $50 and many package room COs
know this and will not let them in even with a receipt for under $50 they may also hassle you for trying to get them in
The only place I know for boots that meet all NY requirements are from Bust The Move
catalogue they are great boots and they have a large variety
work boots chukkas hikers and more

One more thing I forgot to mention about boots
all street boots including Timberland have hollow spaces in the heels
Eastern will not accept boots with hollow spaces
The Bust The Move boots do not have hollow spaces

Boots, boots boots! my honey can't wear the issued ones, they mess his feet up bad, and he keeps trying to get a sneaker pass (he works in the kitchen) and he is now in the hole for the third time on account of this. He would so rather be working.

My man is at Riverview. I always take his Tims to the shoe maker and have the shank removed and all the metal tags and he gets them. If you send them up and then make changes to them, you'll get them back as being tampered with.

you need to get a fake receipt saying its less than 50 - thats what i do. or i just bought a foot locker brand sweatshirt for 25 for my fianc eand it came up as "foot locker" on the receipt, and i gave it to the prison. they had no prob with it because they can't dispute that it's not the shoes...
as for timbs, you have to go to the shoemaker and have the metal shank taken out for like 15 bucks.

Having the shank removed solves that problem, howerver Eastern may still reject them for hollow heels I do know that Wende, Attica, and I heard Albion will
definetely reject footwear with hollow heels. All work boots purchased on the street have hollow heels, some boots like field boots and maybe hikkers may not have hollow heels, but its hit and miss.
Rberlins suggestion of a fake receipt may have worked howerver there is a thing called a negative visitors list,or something like that, if you are caught with a fake receipt you will be placed on this list. I do not know the consequences but it cant be good
