My fiance who is in Douglas/Gila Unit just told me he heard they are doing another transfer out of State due to overcrowding. This time to Oklahoma... Has anyone else heard anything on this? I am praying that he won't be included in this next transfer.

Is he Fed or State? My man is in Oklahoma and has said nothing about more guys being moved in.

He's in a State facility, and heard the info from a Lieutenant on the yard. I also hope it's not something they are planning in the near future or something that would include him. It's hard enough when they are locked up, but it would be even harder for him to be out of State. We are still fighting for me to get approved for a visit here, I don't know what the laws would be in Oklahoma about an ex-inmate/felon visiting an inmate.....

I was wondering the same thing. I just read an article that said they are moving 2,000 inmates to Oklahoma and Texas beginning the middle of March over the next several months. It is supposed to only be for a year, while they "expand & make more room".

I'm really concerned about this too. In fact, I just stopped by the forum to post about it when I saw your post. My guy is at the State Prison in Safford, Az., and called me this morning to tell me he was being considered for a move to Oklahoma. Not sure who he got the information from (they closed the yard during our phone call...he had to hang up), but I'm very concerned. It would make visits impossible. I live in Phoenix as it is...it's a 3 hour drive. Let me know if you hear any more.......

I didn't read the info, but my fiance told me he heard it from the Lt. on his yard. He also said they were taking 100 guys from his yard. He's in Douglas.

hi guys my situation is similar to yours because in jan the 8th my guy was moved to Texas and the say for only a year ...but he told me there are rumers that they are going to get shipped back ....so I dont know I hope he didnt miss understand and they send him to oklahoma ..he is a ADC inmate also .....I dont understand if they have overcrowding why dont they build a prison here ...in AZ ..dam I never get to visit now its over 1300 miles away ...and they said at first they would only move the guys who didnt get visits but that is not true I visited evry weekend since I was approved so I dont understand .....they just seem to be moving them all over ...I wish they would just let him out ...wishful thinking ..christine
