Hi everyone.

I've been gone for a bit visiting my husband in Susanville. I met some of you on here there, but we didn't exchange screen names, so I don't know who you are here, but it was nice to talk to people about things.

They cut visiting short both days, but I didn't get kicked out the second day because, perhaps, I took the advise of someone here and asked for the overcrowding form and pointed out that I live more than 250 miles away, and have not visited in the last 30 days, so I (and many others) should not have been kicked out. The ones of us that made it known that we knew the policy got to stay all day on Sunday. Who knows if we made an impression, but it was good to have the information, and wonderful to see our men! So sad to leave, but I love him so much... .

Anyway, my man and I both are wondering what the status is on Friday visits and the hearing that was scheduled. I don't remember when the hearing was to be held, so if the information was already posted here, my appologies. Just point me in the right direction, and I will be happy. :-)

On a side note, my husband, who is a porter, said he has never seen such waste of money (no surprise to most of you, I'm sure, but this is our first time) as there in the CCC. He said that when they went on lockdown all the COs took all the cleaning agents, brooms, mops, etc., and threw them away. Some cans of Ajax (or whatever they buy) were unopened. Then, when the lockdown is lifted, my husband and others find brand new stuff waiting for them to clean with. It makes us mad because they could save money so many other ways than to take it out on families.

Just a sidenote.

Any info on the status of Friday visits would be welcome. Thank you all for your support! I hope you are all experience those little joys we now rejoice in, and that you can all find something to keep you going.

Hi -
I was just wondering what yard you were visiting on? My fiance is on Lassen yard and it wasn't very crowded in there when I went. After driving all that way it sure sucks that they try to cut your visit short. I'm just glad you didn't have to leave.

Take care
Michelle

Hi!

We were on Sierra Yard, and it was very, very crowded there. They said the weekend before (2/7-8) was not that bad, so hopefully it was mainly because it was Valentine's Day and because our guys had been locked down for so long. I don't know when I'll be able to go again, but I hope it's better then. I heard that it's bad during the summer, too, because people can travel better in those conditions. Well, maybe he will be transferred by then... .

Nice talking with you.

Well, I hope is not crowded this weekend! I want to be able to stay for the whole six hours! I don't get to see him very often since I live 600 miles away. If they try to kick me out, I will give them a sad look and tell them I drove more than 600 miles and that it is our 8 month wedding anniversary! (and it will be, 2/21/04)

I hope they get Fridays visits back though.
