Hi i need some info. My husband got arrested for drugs.

They are saying that he can do a drug program where he does like a year of in patient and a year of out patient.

Does anyone have any info on this or answer questions I have on this.

Thanks

if your looking for programs in NY(not in NY facilites) try "task force" or day top. also most (not all) hospitals have a in pt drug program , i just dont think they will hold him for a year its usually up to 30 days. depending on the actually crime and his past history the 2 programs i mentioned in my 1st sentence will go in to court and try to get a judge to release the defendant to them instead of a prison

I have a friend thats in Safp, which sounds like what your talking about. I went to court, opted for the intense rehab program. He's been gone about a year now, I believe its like a step program, step1, detoxing, intense rehab, 4 hours of classroom a day, exercise in a.m. and p.m... after a certain amount of time like 2 months i think you will get to make a 5 min phone call, you have money on your books like a real prison does. Not sure now many phone calls you can have with him, but not many till your 6 months are up, then i think after that you will get a 3 day pass if applicable, maybe longer... but our friend got to come home around the 6 month mark, he now works a full time job and has a girlfriend. Says it saved his life. This part is heresay, not confirmed but i also heard that you pay back a portion of the money you make to clear your debt. He's was in there a 1 year in Feb. Hope this helps..

This isn't his first offence, he has a bad record so I doubt he will only get 30 days. I did find out it is drug court he is going to on March 18th so we will see from there.

Not sure what drug court entails but I know it is an inpatient and then out patient. that is about it
