Today I decided to call the Arizona Dept Of Corrections 1 (800) number. It is the Victims Line....(if you were a victim of a crime, then you can check on the status of the inmates that committed the crime against you.) Well, Im not the victim, but it tells you where the inmates is currently located and stuff like that. Well when I called this morning, it says that Joey's Estimated Release Date was :February 16, 2006.
Could this really be possible? I sort of thought that it was weird since he got sentenced to 6 years on February 4th 2004. Why does it say that? If someone could help me figure out why is is saying that.....or what is going on...i would appreciate it. Im so new to all this prison stuff, I have no clue what anything means....or how the system works....

Go to the DOC website and see what it says there. Hmmm, that is strange. Could be a mistake on the Vine line - or hey, maybe really good news???

Yah, I already checked that web page about 10 times today. IT says nothing about his new charges yet. It still has only the info from 1999 and before, when he was previously incarcerated. They have not updates it yet, cuz he just got to ALhambra on Friday Morning, so it will probably take a few days still. I hope it is good news, that would be awesome!!!

Yeah, they have been updating that site every single Sunday, and here it is Tuesday and it hasn't been updated for since the 8th. Maybe tomorrow! Hopefully you will find out what you need to know soon. It is frustrating!

His release date is based on lots of things. They usually get credit for however much time he spent in county jail before he went to DOC, plus they only serve 85% of the time and they get a 3 month early kick-out for good behavior. It may be that he spent lots of time in county. Did you check out the DOC website? It states for sure what the sentence is on each charge. If there are several charges, there can be a different release date for each charge. I was sentenced to 2.5 years and I only served 9 months. There are lots of things factoring into it.
