They have shipped alot of guy OUT of jackson, so i'm sure they've shipped more in to take their places. My boyfriend said they shipped out like 120 or so last week. I don't know personally of any shipped in, but the state is scrambling to find space to bring in guys sitting in county right now.

My son has been there for almost 5 weeks. I saw your other posts about Hep C and Strongernow asked me about it as well. If you do a google search for Hep C you can find info. I don't believe Hep C is contagious. It goes for the liver and believe it is transmitted by shared needle and other body fluids. My husband was a possible and when I did my research they said it was very unlikely that I could have gotten it through sexual transmission. My hubby is a 60s guy from 10th street in Georgia. Lots of nasty needles then.

My son has not told me about Hep C in Jackson. We have discussed his TB results. Evidently Cherokee County let an active TB in. They xrayed him just in case and will retest in 2 months. I didn't know but evidently TB is a big shared thing with crowds. My sister in law is a nurse and she has contracted it. There is treatment.

On the Hep C I have warned my son against the tatoo stuff in prison. I'm not sure he is listening. Believe it or not but they take the staples out of magazines and mark each other. Unbelievable.

I believed you also asked about how long they sit in county. It may depend on the conviction. However may not. Strongernow's hubby to be and my son were shipped same time. My son received his sentence in September and shipped out 4 months later.

Hep C is also being distributed by the clippers that they're using to cut hair with. A recent study by the CDC found that the Hep C virus was living in the blue antiseptic that they were using. So, the DOC switched from that blue stuff to bleach and water, I believe. And really really encourage the guys to stay away from the tatoo business.. it's ugly...

On the clippers with the blue stuff?

They would have to break skin to pass on the virus wouldn't they?
You can get it through blood exchange but unusal to get it through sex.
