It depends on what you mean by that. Inmates are giving a tentative parole date. First, there are a set of questions. like did he hold a job 6 months prior to conviction? Has he had other convictions....they are rated and this gives him a parole success rate....then they figure that with the severity of his crime....there is a chart they use that determines when his tentative parole will be. Due to the severity of his crime they could waiver from the chart ....It just depends.... In our case....by the chart his tentative was suppose to be 5 years, but they went 12.....go figure... When his tentative date approaches.....is when you will need to write letters...with information supporting his parole. They go over his case...his crime.....his behavior since incarceration...His case worker will interview him and report to the board..At the time of his tentative they will vote....you must get a 3 to 1 to be paroled. I hope I have been helpful....If I left anything out...just let me know and I may have the answer for you.

I was wondering if there is anyway I could get the information you have about the Parole process. My man is still in Jackson and has been there for 12wks now. He had a TPM but had another case that they didn't receive the paperwork on until recently. So now his file is up for review again. I would appreciate any info if possible.

Our son was denied in 1999 after conviction. Grid sheet proposed 18 months of 15 years do 6! (Assault against a person in custody) He has done almost 4 and we still can't get the board to budge.Had a lawyer talk with clemency people who said if he does well and no trouble he'll get out after half is servrd.....well it's past that and nothing. We think the judge put a red flag on his files because we came out publically against him as a racist and tyrant of the judicial system...Is there a way that we can find out if the judge did block our son's parole....This was his first ever crime and an outstanding citizen up to this point. (7 years military...worked with nuclear weapons etc.):fb:

My best advice would be, make a plea to the governor, your representative, and anyone else that will listen. Has he got a parole date? If you are in Georgia.....I have found this parole board members to be more understanding and fair, than the members that were on in that era. I would make my first plea to them, and see what happens....Tell him to get the forms for a reconsideration from his counselor, he can send them to you and you can file those with the board....Hey I don't know, but it worked well for us....They are reconsidering my baby, and he wasn't up for parole until 2006.....just my thoughts.
