My lovey is in for 2 p.v.'s and has pending counterfeit charges... I personally don't mind posting his charges, its not like he did something horrible like rape a child (no offense to anyone that knows someone that did, I just feel that that is a horrible thing to do and that is my personal opinion)

Mines in for murder…about 15 yrs ago he got into with a guy over a drug deal and shot him. So they gave him 65 yrs. I don't think this is a personal question, if u get in the IDOC website and look up the offender u can see what they're in there for. It doesn't bother me to talk about it, I believe he's a good guy. Hell if someone owed me $50,000 Id probably would have done the same thing.

Armed robbery, probation voilation, "escape"

I put it in qoutes b/c he was able to get work relase while waiting for sentencing (the judge was trying to give stupid a break, to help me out with money, i had to beg the judge and da to agree to this in court like a loon) and my dummy the day before sentencing uses some chicks car at the place he was working and come sees me. they could have left it with walking off owrk release but needless to say by that point the judge/da and I think even his lawyer didn't think he needed a break.

Child support, can you believe that shit! The past 5 years he has paid in over $20K, then the past two years the recession hit and the construction biz tanked in our part of the country and he got in arrears again and in prison he goes. Now when he gets out in about a year (hoping 6-8 months) then he will be even further in arrears.

kicking someone's ass really bad for molesting his then gf... she brought her "posse" to make sure things didn't get outta hand... yea right! He finished what he went to do... kick his ass...then left the scene. The gf and her pals stayed for a few days and used the dude's apt for a crash/party pad with him (the victim) and his common-law wife duct taped in the closets. As the funds for mind altering substances became low, they decided to sell off items of value in the apt, and the people being held were being let out to use the bathroom and given drinks and food, duct tape being removed and replaced... the dude suffocated when the duct tape was put over his nose and mouth in a drug induced misjudgment of placement by one of the others... he (my husband) wasn't even there after the initial confrontation on the first day... unfortunately he had the mentality of "death before dishonor" and wouldn't tell what really happened. He got 40-life and the rest of them are already out... they all "cooperated" with the investigation... and later he found out that they all pointed the finger at him as the "mastermind" of the crime. Two separate charges... murder 2nd and kidnapping 1st. 15-life and 25-life running consecutively which means he has to serve both his minimums before he can go to the board. Court appointed attorney didn't object to the sentence structure and even though NYS sentencing laws prohibit consecutive sentencing when the charges are derived from a single omission, because no objections were raised during the sentencing procedure, he was not permitted to appeal based on the sentencing structure... incredible! He was 21 years old and had just been honorably discharged from the Army... at the time he was considering re-enlisting into officer school... what a waste!

Here's the kicker... the "victim" was my husband's then gf's common-law brother-in-law whom she was living with part-time. Crazy! She (the then gf) just got released a year ago... but the others were released within 5 years of their sentencing.

Of course in hind sight... he says he would have told the truth. He doesn't negate his own involvement in the initiation of the beating, but he had nothing to do with what took place afterwards... he does regret the loss of life immensely... brings him to the verge of tears when he talks about it... his only regret is that he allowed the others to pin the rest of the crime on him as well... he's been in for 19 1/2 years now... for kicking someone's ass... Sorry I'm rambling! I just get really angry when I think about it all. The thing that really gets me upset is the lack of proper representation... he was excessively and unjustly sentenced and has been told that because his attorney inadequately represented him he had no grounds to appeal it. Crooked system!

Yes felon in possession of ammunition is illegal as well. And admittedly in Western Missouri the feds have a hard on for any gun related crimes so the sentencing is strict. Any felon in possession cases that a state/local officer arrests someone for us automatically turned over to the feds here. I'd be careful about you all having anything to do with anything associated with firearms because more than likely it's not okay :(

So we left out of state since i was pregnant and he wanted to be there for his childs birth. Mine's in for felony driving while license suspended...Getting real time due to burglary charges 18yrs ago. They can serve their time but it doesn't clean the slate. They are punished for life, especially in FL. I hate looking at sentencing for more serious crimes getting 6mos. and the minimum for my husband is 17mos. because of points sentencing on previous charges. I'll never quite understand the judicial system- at this point just want him home

Well, my husband is 37 (as of 2-5, happy bday!) and Im 21, just before we got together he was still with his ex, he was tryin to get with me cause she was aweful and i kind of blew him off so he went home and she had a fit cause he didnt bring his paycheck straight home and they got into it and for some reason she tricked off and called the cops. When we got together he already had that case, now he has a couple more so

2 counts of Domestic Battery (which they upgraded to a felony)
And cause he couldnt find work he has a couple of stolen credit card possesion charges.
trying to buy things we needed for our baby, instead of busting ass for a job. He has already done 7 years before, the det. tried to threaten me to pin him for burglery by saying he would be gone longer. Didnt work. I love my man, let them do thier job.;)

Sooo, is it really bad that I don't even know all the details?! I met my bf in October, and he was just arrested a few weeks ago...he had moved to Pennsylvania from Maryland, and the police in PA found out there was a warrant out for him in MD. So they sent him back to MD, and we have not been able to discuss it since then. From what I can see in the court records, he is in trouble for theft (over $500, which is felony in MD)...and it says "counterfeit credit card." The big problem is that he missed his court date after he had been bailed out...so was then considered a "fugitive." I have no idea how long he is going to be in for, I am very nervous :(

Hello To All...
I was just wondering if anyone will like to share why their men are in prison????

My LO has been JAIL numerous times. Not for long. Maybe a few weeks or months at most. Never a full year. This is his first time in PRISON. Got 4 yrs, serving 50% only in our state for a non violent time, and time from county jail counts, plus good time credit, anyway... He's problems have been the same since time # 1. Drug related.... Not consumption. (well not the charge but im sure he did).... Dealing.... WILL HE EVER EVER EVER CHANGE? DECIDE TO FORM A FAMILY....???? WORK A DECENT JOB???? NOT "EASY" MONEY....... :( I WONDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 years serving 50% for being a felon in possession of a handgun. The gun was in our house he didn't have it on him.

My bf has been to jail many times also. Always for the same thing too. Breaking and entering, Conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, Larceny, and Conspiracy to commit Larceny. I think one time it was Larceny of a Firearm also. I think this bid was for a probation violation. Anyways, his previous bids were 6 months (got out then 2 weeks later back in) 5 months (same as above) and THIS time he got 17 months! We're lucky tho cuz his lawyer said he was looking at about 5-6 yrs and at only 20yrs old I know he would've been crushed. I THINK he has changed this time tho (at least I hope and pray he has) He has a job and he is currently finshing the last part of his G.E.D. He comes home in 4 more months! I am SOO happy!:D

26-31 year sentence, 2 counts of 2nd degree murder. We have just under 21 years left on this bid. Do I worry about him going back again once he's out? Not really.

walking off work release.(considered escape in our state)he got 2-5 years.had been 2 months shy of release for a dui when he walked off work release.those are his only 2 bids.no,i don't expect him to go back....he's taken a couple of trades inside(welding and masonry)he goes to school 5 evenings a week and also works in there.he says one has to be "free" before they even get out of prison to have a chance at making it meaning, they can't just lay around, bragging about their criminal exploits and doing nothing to prepare for release and then just expecting all their ducks to line up when they walk out the gates.they have to aggressively prepare for release beforehand.

My LO has been in several times before. All for same thing drug related(sell not use) we are from a very small area to which I moved years ago because there is very little opportunity for growth. Not making excuses for him but I knw that plays a part. Anywayz my life wld not be what it is now had it not bn for the grace of God & havn family that helped me relocate to tx where I currently live. He was given 14 yrs to which he has been in since 2008 & not sure if he will do that at 50% or what but his outdate says 2015. Im hoping he will want to make the change & relocate here. Ive been hesitant in just out right offering that becuz I want him to want that for himself. So we will see.

Probation Revocation and distiribution... he only got 120 day treatment which is SUCH a miracle!! (he was looking at up to 45 years) And he would have only gotten probation had he not abscaundered last summer...

And i believe that they have the ability to change IF they want to! That is the key.. If they dont want to change and they like the fast money and drugs and all that then they wont, I've seen it a lot! Mu hubby is 31 and just NOW realizing he doesnt want to be in and out of prison anymore that he doesnt want to miss his kids grow up so I"m really praying he doesnt go back but I'm going to have to SEE that he's changed before I say a definate no he wont go back

You tell him how awesome I think that is. Lawson is doing the same. His first time in he just sat around and did his time, got out and did the same crap. This time he has actually grown up and realized if he doesn't get pro-active about changing his life, prison is where he will spend it.

My fiance is in for the 2nd time, the first time was back when he was 18 for 3 months ( only in county) for breaking and entering his own parents house because he was on drugs. but that was here nor there he is clean now and has been since we got together other than drinking and pot. This time is because he got his 2nd dui in ten years :( one back when he was 18 and one when we went out after my daughter was born. he got sentenced to 8 mounths serve half so 4 months. I dont think he will end up back again becasue it is killing him being away from the kids, before us he didnt have anything to lose now he is missing so much of our daughters 1st year and our son is 2 1/2 and its killing him to not be here with his family.

That's exactly what my bf realized this time around! His 1st 2 bids he just went in did his time, came out and went back to the same sh*t, hanging around with the same people knowing that they (his so-called boys) were up to NO good! This time he is in school getting his G.E.D. and also has a job. He is one more subject (math) away from completing his G.E.D. He is only 20 so I think we have a good future ahead of us. I think he has changed for the better! :D I tell him all the time how PROUD I am of him for not getting into trouble and staying on the right track. The ONLY time I got mad at him was about 4-5 months ago when he wrote and told me he had gotten a tattoo. Other than that we are GREAT! 4 more months to go!

My husband is in for 2 counts of felony driving on a suspended license. He got 3 years. He has been in 3 other times, once at 19 for buglary/ breaking into cars (he took the fall), once for drugs...but that was before me. He says this is the hardest time because he has someone who loves him and knows that I need him out here. The responsiblility that is all on me drives him crazy. He is dead set that he will not go back- He's done with that life and is ready to grow old with me and have the family life he has always dreamed of. I believe that! He finally has what he never had and will not do anything to lose us, so he's given up his past. There of course is no way to know for sure until he gets out, but I truely believe that the light bulb went off and he has made some definite changes

Hell if someone owed me $50,000 Id probably would have done the same thing.

this is my husband's second time, first time was just county jail for burglary. this time s 'friend' set him up for a burglary he didn't commit (he was in jail at the time) and when the cop came he tried to run, ended up wrestling with the leo and drew the cops gun cause people were trying to help the cop and was kicking and hitting him. the cop grabbed the gun it went off. it was pointed at the ground the whole time but a fragment hit the leo's leg and my husband got 2nd degree attempted murder. he got 25 years and 10 years probation when he comes home. we still fighting for his gaintime the D.O.C. owes him. I just live one day at a time thats all we can do :)

To believe that noone cries rape when its not true is naive. I am sorry you had to go through with what you did but, I have seen some pretty low down women in my life time. I have some more to add but, it just wouldn't be appropriate.

"To believe that no one cries rape when its not true is naive."

It is uncommon to falsely accuse some one of rape but it does happen and there was recently a national news story about a girl who did just that and now has confessed after the guy has spent many years in prison.

My friends hubby ( and also my friend) thought it would be ok to jump in the car and dash home, after they got in a fight over the phone about him being gone all day drinking with his "homies" he hit the railroad tracks wrong, lost control of his vehicle..care went into oncoming traffic, he hit a man ( who was also drinking and driving and over the limit) and that man later died in the hospital.. Adrian got vehicular manslaughter and 2 years later died in prison, due to lung cancer that went unoticed or treated. Foolish acts lead to sad outcomes. His daughter was just a year old...he was just 21 and both missed out on what could have been a good life. Becky was left a widow at a young age and to raise a daughter on her own. The man who died, sadly left behind a wife and 2 grown kids ( he was 54) The papers failed to mention that he to was drinking and driving and above the legal limit...which i think is straight fucked up. BUT it is what is is....he took a life, because of his bad choices. Doesnt make any difference that it was a accident...fact of the matter is...he did it. He made the concious choice to get behind the wheel after drinking and took someones life. Sad sad stuff...

I know your missing your man but just think that whole family is missing that victim. Adrian never forgot that he took someones life, he hated himself for what he did and died knowing he cause that family so much pain..as well as his own.

I think its so important for people to hear stories such as this...makes others think twice about actin a fool. lol

Thanks for sharing.
Intoxication manslaughter & intoxication assault. :(

CRAPPY situation, since I've always preached to friends about drunk driving... He and I both have gotten SO much crap for it, but hey, it makes us stronger in the end, right? It was an accident, I guess people forget that. :(

damn serving 9 years for something you didnt do...now that would suck.

It was 20 years for manslaughter. The original charge was murder and two counts of agg assault. He served 9. He's out now. His conviction was overturned due to DNA evidence. The blood on the murder weapon wasn't the victim's. They didn't test it.

My dummy is in for domestic violence...apparently throwing a shoe at a crazy biatch and it leaving marks is a no no.

Just kidding! I know what he did was totally messed up it never right to hit anyone..with a shoe or anything. Drugs cause people to act, well not themselves!

It was a stupid fight with a strung out chick who was going balistic on him he overreacted...and bam.

Years have passed now..but even after she turned him in for it and he went to prison they remained friendly and both have forgiven each other. Dumb stuff happens when you do drugs.

He got himself straight shortly after...was straight when he turned himself in for the warrent...which he didnt know he had until someone told him they were looking for him.

He was in a new reltionship with a baby on the way, at the time he turned himself in. He thought hed get a slap on the hand for the stupid act..and be ready for when his child was born, but nopes. 6 years for his stupid act....lets hope for his sake 6 years away from his children was enough to get his head clear and keep him out of trouble and with his kids and family!

He had done county time for beating up his ex wifes lover ( she was cheatin on him, he caught her in the act and confronted them both beat the guy up pretty bad i guess) Hes taken anger management classes several times throughout his time in jail and prison and seems to be a different man. We will see what happens when hes out. . . =]

He got 6 years and comes home this June 6, 2011.

How does this make ANY sense? I mean to take away the ABILITY to pay? WTF?

Child support, can you believe that shit! The past 5 years he has paid in over $20K, then the past two years the recession hit and the construction biz tanked in our part of the country and he got in arrears again and in prison he goes. Now when he gets out in about a year (hoping 6-8 months) then he will be even further in arrears.

got sentenced 4 years with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with the intent to deliver.... with me in the car. He was rolled up on... He was also on probation for priors. They are still trying to charge me since i was in the car with him even though i didnt know about it and my husband has even told the plenty of times. But they wanted him to snitch and he said no way so they are being big meanie heads! Why are our men so dumb sometimes!

Conspiracy, he let the SOB's park a truck (pot) in the driveway, which meant he had to plead guilty to every charge the other people involved were charged with across the country or risk 20-life if he tried to fight it .

It's crazy looking thru all these and seeing the varying sentences. Charges that in my mind are more serious, can receive less time than the other charges.

Just goes to show you how much a good/bad lawyer can do. And how punishments vary from state to state!

Oh and mine is in for violation of probation.

My man got 8 years with a mandatory 5. Received the additional 3 years because they say it was done within 100 of a juvenile. Mind you his son wasn't even born the day the buys went down. He's in for 7 counts varying from trafficking to possession. Some of the shit wasn't even his and most of it was pot. He has a few buddies on the inside that about died when they heard how railroaded he was by a judge whose own brother was just taken down for the same earlier this year.
