I Have been reading and enjoying posts here since August of 2003, but this is my first time starting a tread. So, here's my little sob story. I returned on Jan 14 from a lovely visit with my grandparents near Atlanta, GA., to find a letter from my boyfriend dated Jan 7. It was very heartfelt, I suppose, telling me all the crazy stuff that goes on there. The clincher is, he told me that he neede money for soups and stamps, etc. So I put a money order along with a letter which I mailed out on Jan.18. I wote him another letter a couple days after that, and I still haven't heard from him. I hate feeling anxious, but I am a little upset. Anyways, I'm awaiting advice/comments on this from you guys, thanks.

Girl I am waiting too! The last letter I got was dated Jan.14th and the mailman delivered it to the wrong house so I had to wait an extra week to get it! No one in my building got mail today..so the mailman is sleeping..I was mad but getting mad will not make it come any faster...We just have to wait for it to come. Can he call you? Hang in there and you will hear from him soon. Dont let the anxiety get the best of you...try to relax and stay busy to keep yourself from thinking about it...that's what I am doing.

babieboo maybe we got the same mailman??..lol..bcuz mine just doesn't seem to follow the whole match the house number on the envelope to the house u deliver it too..but neways i hear u girls..im waiting for a letter too..it's pretty odd..but it's been taking way too long now for me to get my mail..maybe it has to do something with Washington and them having to take more security measures with the mail??..whatever it iss..i hope we can find a lil something in out mail boxes soon =)

I know my mail is crazy because I just moved a couple of weeks ago so its getting forwarded from 2 different places, and then the letters that are addressed directly to my new address are taking FOREVER to get here.

Maybe this is National Slow MailMan month or something :(
If you wanna come back to Atlanta, maybe we can eat chocolate, ice cream, and watch a sob movie! :) It always works!

Damn my man just got sent to South Florida Reception Center on Jan. 28th 2003 and is in confinement for a DR, I put money in his account and he still has the same amount in there. I haven't heard from him since. I have written at least one letter a day. I don't know if he is allowed to write letters or not because this is new to me. He got sent from a Work Release center which to me is like a Day Care for imates because they can do what they want. Maybe I was just spoiled because i heard from him everyday for at least an hour and they weren't collect calls. I really don't know what to do with myself anymore now since I haven't talked to him and his classification officer is a real a**hole. So I feel the same way you do A'sbaby.

my mail seems to be up to speed, but it seems that most of u are having troubles :( sloooooooooooow ass mail! wait it out! the system is nuts!

Well Let Me Put My 2 Cents In Cuz The Mail Is Slow Around Here Too. And I Hate It!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I Didnt Even Get A Mail Delivery, And Everytime I Send My Baby Something It Takes Him Like 2 Weeks To Get It, And We Live In The Same State! I Dont Know Whats Going On But They Need To Quit Playin, But Like Baby Boo Said, Eventually You'll Hear From Him, The Hard Thing Is Just The Wait, But Stressin Will Not Help. If You're Missing Him That Would Be A Good Reason To Write Him And Tell Him How You Feel....

A's Baby, For what I know two things seem to happen. One, once our mail gets inside it is up to the CO for our man's area when he wants it distributed. Two, mail going out gets picked up when the CO decides he wants it picked up. Wonder why the mail service is so bad??? Well, that's the way it's been going for me. I am just grateful when it does arrive. On the phone I'm always asking, "Did you get.....? And, did you get...?" The good thing aobut money orders is having your receipt to trace them if you have to. Just think...some day...this, too, will be over!!! Until then, hang in there! ! WJ

Whenever I send a money order in a letter it takes about 10 days for them to post it and they hold the letter for the same amount of time. Don't know why they do that, but it is how it is where my man is.
