Can someone please tell what a parole lawyer is for? Is it a good idea to hire one to help someone's parole review? I just need any information someone can give me on parole lawyers.
Thanks in advance!!! :)

you will get all kinds of answers on this one. Some will tell you don't waste your time...others will swear it's worth every penny.

Basically, most parole services/attorneys make contact with the boards and work on your behalf. The service, if it's worth anything at all, is very expensive (they wanted $3500 to MAYBE save Skip 8 months...and THERE IS NO GUARANTEE). If they promise you a win....don't walk...RUN in the opposite direction. They can present on your behalf, and make calls....but the ultimate decision is up to the board...and it's been said in presentations by more than one Parole Board member...they are not swayed any more so by someone who has parole representation over someone who doesn't. There isn't anything they can really do for you that you can't accomplish on your own....(trust me.....I know this from personal experience).

It depends on SO MANY FACTORS...how long is the sentence...what factors are involved. Is the offender case free...and what can be done to insure that person is no longer a threat to society.

Will help in any way I can...

I don't recommend one way or the other but I came across this website for a parole lawyer and there is some interesting free advice so here it is for what it is worth. www.lawyertexasparole.com

I have been able to get enough info from folks on this board to do what needed to be done to help my brother.
