A cook at Holliday is causing my son to get a case! Our son is assigned to the kitchen and has to leave in time for his GED class. He says that the cook will not release him until one or two minutes before class starts at the other end of the facility. He has a case because he was not authorized to be in the hall going to class since he was released from the kitchen too late! Then his teacher ( should I say her name?) gave him a case because he was late for class. Now he has 2 cases, can't go to commisary for 11 days and something else I forgot what it was because I was so angry that I could hardly listen. Some of the guards are punks that are in a position of authority and they are nothing on earth but big bullies!!!! Our son is writing a grievance so hopefully it will go into his jacket or folder even if he won't get any justice. Some of the guards make it impossible to make parole. They are mean for the sake of meanness and are not professional. That's my beef. Norma

Norma, I've heard many complaints about guards at this unit only recently. I think the bottom line is the more official complaints there are, the sooner someone in authority will recognize there is a problem and do something about it. Since your son has filed a grievance, you can also back that up with a phone call and verbal complaint to the warden ... though you may want to back "that" phone call up with a written complaint yourself to the Regional Director.

On the good news side, 11 days restriction shows they take his offense very lightly, and you could be thankful for that.

Good luck.
