Thank you Denise for sharing this. I use this site almost everyday, because my husband Norman is in the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge Co. That is on Rt. 50E toward Clarksburg from Parkersburg. I do want to add though the only inmates you will find here are those who are currently housed in one of our MANY regional jails. It does not show inmates who are housed at DOC facilities like Huttonsville and Mount Olive Etc. The WVRJA and DOC are two seperate entities, I am finding out this last nine months my husband has been housed there. If you have anything to ask me, let me know. I worked for WV DOC for a year. Maybe I can help anyone out, I'd be more than happy... thank you!

Yes, I know this is only for the regional jails...I wish it did include Mt Olive and Huttonsville. I've had this website on mine for a long time...don't know why I didn't think to list it here until recently...DUH!! I usually use the site to look up Daily Incarcerations to see if there is anyone I know...

I FINALLY got a website that will tell you what inmate is in what DOC prison here in WV... it tells where they are, or are they paroled or 'general release' meaning discharge. I looked up a good friend of mine, and it said DEATH... I almost fell off this chair!!!

Here is the website... www.vinelink.com. try that. If it's not the right one, email and I will check to make sure that is correct. The first screen will be all 50 states, and then you click on the one you want. Some states say No, but, they may use their own website, like Ohio does!

I just clicked on that link, and it works fine... You don't need to put in his birthday or DOC, just a last name, and all they require for a first name is like D, or E, or whatever!

You know, I don't even remember what Link I had on my profile... now that is sad. I am so thankful I found this VineLink to find inmates in our state and where they are. I almost fell over when I found out my friend "Duck" at MOCC was dead. It hurt me bad, but then an inmate I "THOUGHT" was dead, is alive and well at HCC! This is a god send!

I amnew to all this, how can I find a friend in DIDDRIDGE COUNTY REGIONAL jail and see if i can write or email him????

go to http://www.wvrja.com and click on the find offender link. you will then be able to enter your friend's name. if he is any of the WV regional jails, his information will come up. you can certainly write to him, but inmates DO NOT have access to computers or the internet. some regional jail will not even allow the inmates to have the envelopes that their mail comes in.

I used the vine site but i do not know how to read it. there are no dates or order of hmm actions. if he was released from a wvjail but now on this other thing it says mt olive.. do you think he was transfered?

just about all wv doc inmates start out at a regional jail. some spend more time there than others before they are transferred to a prison facility. If vinelink says he is at mt. olive, more than likely he is, especially if he is not showing up on the regional jail authority site.
