I was approved to visit 3 weeks ago and booked it to Yuma for our first visit which was awesome. My husband got approved last week, so we booked it back to Yuma today, only to find out I was denied visitation.
Long story short ... after losing 1 hour 20 minutes of our visit, to get this cleared up. I had submitted several applications ... one "disappeared" after two weeks when my son didn't have his 20 list in. Another I had submitted didn't have complete information. Third one was the one that I finally got approved on. However the 2nd application "reappeared" and because it was incomplete, was marked as denied. UGH!!! When that one was denied, they removed my approved and put me on denial status.
Fortunately ... the officers were proactive to try and get it resolved. But it was touch and go for an hour 20 minutes ... they finally realized the error, called the CO in that had originally approved me, and he looked at the denied application, looked at the approved application, and ripped the denied on up. They corrected the system and we got our visit in! Thankfully! I was sitting there for over an hour telling my husband every question to ask my son in case I had to go sit in the car for 3 hours. It was a crash course in "what a mom needs to hear" if he had to go in with my daughter to visit.
My advice to those applying ... if you have multiple applications submitted and get approved, before you go to your second visit, be sure you call and be sure all is still cool before you drive over. :-)
