Its been a long time since my DD was at Tutwiler, but I know you can mail pictures. stamps only and letters, but no plain paper or envelops. The girls must buy them off canteen. (the prices are double what we pay on the outside so remember that when you send money in the form of a Postal Money order is all they accept make it a little extra.) Have her put your name on her funds list and also your phone number for collect calls. I don't know how long she will be there or if she will have been there long enough but they do let family do a Christmas box that you can order food and hygene products from. She should be able to send you a form that has the list allowed and they do set a maximim amount you can spend. The company sends the boxes hopefully in time for Christmas and the earlier you order the better chances they wont run out of what your daughter wants. The details for sending money and or paying with a credit card will be on the paper.
As to visitation, be early and wear long pants, nice blouse(no clevage), leave purse in your trunk, carry 1 car key and your DL, carry money in a clear change purse in coins for machines.You can call for amount you can carry in. They use to let the girls take drinks back to their dorms. Not sure about shoes, but I do know they will make you take them off and your socks. No lighters or matches if you smoke, you must buy all that out of prison machines, including all food and beverages.

There is a limit to how many stamps and envelopes you can mail per week, but you can mail as many letters as you want. You can order magazines for them that have to be mailed by the magazine company, books from a book retailer that will mail them directly to her and the incentive boxes. The prices are ridiculous but it is the only way they can get things from the free world. They can buy limited items at double the free world prices from the commissary and you have to fund their account with a postal, western union or moneygram money order or you can fund it directly using the ADOC online banking system, which is fast and easy.
