You can't. Alabama inmates have to buy hygiene items from the prison store.

The only things you can send in regularly to Alabama prisons are books of stamps, paperback books and magazines (have to be sent from a company or publisher like Amazon, Publishers Clearing House, etc.), photos, and in some facilities, writing paper, envelopes, and ink pens are allowed. The individual prisons have different rules about what can come in and how many at a time so if you have specific questions about any of these items at Tutwiler, someone familiar with Tutwiler's rules can probably address this.

The only exception with the personal/hygiene items is that some of that stuff is available to order in the fall and spring incentive packages, if the inmate is eligible to receive one. In the past we were able to put these packages together ourselves with a list a limits/restrictions, but these now have to be ordered from a company ADOC has contracted with.

The next incentive package coming up is the Christmas package, which is food items only and can be ordered now. Inmates who are eligible have been given a list to order from and give to their people on the outside to order, or the packages can be ordered online at the ADOC website.

The next package you can order clothing and hygiene items won't be 'til spring and ordering usually starts around March or April.

So to sum up, inmates' only option until the spring incentive package is buying their own personal/hygiene items at the prison store. You can send in money orders for their funds list so they can do that (or send online via Western Union - instructions are in the subforum in Alabama about packages, funds, & mail).
