daisey 05-22-2004, 01:00 AM Hi, I am new here. My boyfriend just turned himself into FCI Cumberland camp. I haven't heard a word from him since the date he went in (5-19-04). Does anyone know when he will be able to call me? When I can start to visit? I am so new to this, I have never had a loved one in prison before. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Daisey

Welcome to PTO!
Sorry you must go through this experience but glad you have found PTO which will be a great source of support and information during this time!
He surrendered Wednesday, has he called anyone? Often times counselors will allow for a phone call once they are processed, usually from the desk in front of them.
Then, it can take about a week for the phone list to be approved.
Visiting, he will have to get a visitor application from his Case Worker. He then sends it to you, you fill it out and return it back to the case worker who's name will appear on the form. Do NOT send this back to the prisoner! A estimated time frame would be 1 to 2 weeks for approval.
We have a federal prison forum here on PTO that you might want to visit. We have tons of information there already...and if you ever have a question, that would be the place to ask! We have many wonderful members who are always willign to help!

If there is anything else I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask!
