My girlfriend just arrived at Christina Melton Crain Unit from Plane State Jail. Does anyone have any information on the unit? I couldn't find much info except for address etc.

Not much other than it is in Gatesville and that up until about a year ago it was called the Gatesville unit. It is actually comprised of a number of satellite units named Hackberry (SAFP), Sycamore, Terrace, Riverside, Valley and Reception (which is where they release them from ... go figure) but other than the collective of those satellite units there actually is no Crain (Gatesville) unit. All the satellite units are spread around within sight of each other but Woodman, Moutain View, Hilltop, Lane Murray and Woodman Sate Jail - all womens units - are right there as well.
