:pissed: My Guy was moved from the Tucson/ santa rita while serving a 5 yr sentence for overcrowding to Newton Texas ..which by the way is on the Louisiana border...basically where Texas ends ....so now our visiting is over for a yr ..they say its because of overcrowding ....has this happened to anyone else or we just the lucky ones ?????please reply if you have any Info on this ....by the way I am new here from Phoenix feel free to write anytime ..thanks :)

How long has he been there and what type of offense? Non-Dangerous? Was he a first time offender?

My son was sent to Newton Texas also, from Tucson AZ. I miss him sooooooooooo much! He just sent me a photo of him. He has changed so much in so little time.

i am curious, was it only a random over crowding choice, or did any of these guys have any disciplinary actions or anything else?

Just over crowding,When the warden called me to tell me! I begged him not too! The Warden then put my son on the phone to try and calm me down.
My son said he was fine and that he would be ok! but it was because he had no disciplinary problems and stayed out of trouble(like I begged him to) he would be considered the safest to transport with out problems

Thanks for enlighting me I could not figure why he was sent ..but since my guy was being good I guess the same reason applys to him ...thats kind of bittersweet ...I am glad hes been doing good but it is so far ....but on a lighter side he comes up for review in june.. and his score will lower and he said they will send him back to a min yard ...so my fingers are crossed that he makes it the 6 mos because in Tucson he was in a 2 man cell and now he says its like a county facility and theres 20 guys in a dorm and that could kind of bad its easier to get into fights and stuff like that ....write me and hey they get to buy phone cards and thats good he calls a lot more often ...

well, then i guess i have nothing to worry about, my man has gotten 5 write ups in 3 mos. so even though hes still in tucson, i cant visit him anyway. im so sorry that you guys have to be so far away from your men, they in a way took your time away too. but at least you still can see them providing you go that far.
