Hi everyone! I'm pretty new here. Boyfriend was at Johnson State, but just got transferred to Autry. Wondered if anyone had info on the prison or visitation (dress code, etc). Any info is appreciated!

My son was transferred from Scott to Autry. Has been there for past 6 months. I have only visited once, it is really a LONG drive and WAY OUT in the boonies! I did it all in one day, but not again! If you are going from Hall Co, it would be the same as me (Barrow County). It is pretty much the same dress code, etc., as all of the other facilities. If you do not get there before 11:00 a.m., you cannot enter until 1:00 in the afternoon. (Which I didn't).

Fortunately, we only have 49 days left from a 10 year sentence!

Wow, 49 days left! That's awesome! 6 months left from a 10 year sentence here. I did see that it's about 4 hours from Hall Co. I know where Barrow Co is, so I guess it is pretty much the same. How has he liked it there? I heard it was pretty rough, but I know prison isn't exactly heaven. Thanks for the info :)

Awww, that's so sweet! Thank you so much for caring! He did call last night, but we were trying to talk so fast and get as much in in 15 minutes as we could, that I forgot to ask him! Darn!! Next time! It must be hard for you living so far from where he is. How long has it been since you've seen your husband?

It very hard, Its been 9 years since I have seen him in person, we just got back together 2 years ago though. Our life has been a bit crazy but we keep ending up back together. So there must be a plan. I am glad you got to talk to him. I hate the 15 mins. I really hate the last 1 min. Our calls are alot.. 18.00 each.. it sucks. So how are you holding up?

Wow, it's been 10 years since I've seen mine in person. I'm hoping to go visit next month if I have the money. It's going to be so weird though. We were 19 the last time we saw each other and now we're about to be 30. Our calls are only $5, but it adds up fast! I'm doing okay, thanks for asking. Hope all is good with you :)

hi everyone! I'm pretty new here. Boyfriend was at johnson state, but just got transferred to autry. Wondered if anyone had info on the prison or visitation (dress code, etc). Any info is appreciated!

I have a son that has been at autry for over a year now. We try to visit once a month. Dress code is pretty simple, no shorts, no tank tops, no body parts showing. Wear shoes easy to remove as you have to take them off when entering to go thru security. Wear bra with no underwire as it will set off security bell and you will have to have body search. Take plenty of quarters in clear zip lock bag. Most of the time the dollar changer does not work. I put my sons doc number on the bag along with my car tag number so I want forget them. Both are required when signing in. Overall as far a prisons go the autry staff is very friendly. The place is spotless. You actually get to hug when the inmate first enters and upon leaving. Visitation is from 9-11 and from 1-3. No one in nor out from 11-1, its head count. You sit at a little round table with your loved one. You can get them all the sandwiches and snacks they can eat. Make sure you are on their visitation list before going. :)

Do they still make bras without underwire? It doesn't really matter to me, they pat me down automatically when I see my cousin in FL so I am used to it.
